Director Wael Ihsan has stated to that he is in fact working on a new film. Ihsan clarified that his film, still untitled, would tackle popular resistance in Suez cities (Suez, Ismailia and Port Said) during the October War, arguing that new generations must know about the heroic acts of their predecessors, because those are real heroes.
He remarked that Hollywood makes big movies about fake heroes, and we neglect real ones here. This kind of movie demands courage from producers, as well as actual support from the state by way of its institutions. He also added that he has not yet chosen his lead actors, as he's still in the initial phase of research and gathering information, which takes a lot of time.
Ihsan won the directing prize for his " Sa'a we Nos" at the 61st Egyptian Catholic Centre Film Festival last week.
