According to Deadline, Rachel McAdams is in talks with director Cameron Crowe to star in his next film, still untitled, starring Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone. Crowe, who won an Oscar in 2001 for "Almost Famous," has brought rom-com hungry audiences classics like "Jerry Maguire," "Say Anything..." and "Vanilla Sky." The new project is "funny and romantic, with a tone similar to past Crowe films Jerry Maguire and Almost Famous."
The story follows a defense contractor (Cooper) overseeing a weapons satellite launch in Hawaii. He teams up with, and falls in love with, an Air Force pilot (Stone) to scrap the launch. A talking computer will also be making an on-screen appearance.
Crowe has been working on the film for over five years. It was previously titled "Deep Tiki" and almost went into production with Reese Witherspoon and Ben Stiller as romantic leads before it was tabled.
Scott Rudin (The Social Network) is also on board as producer. The reinvented project with a shiny new cast is scheduled to go into production this October.
