Director Ahmed Abdallahhas just put out a beautifully shot trailer for his new film " Fersh wa Ghatta" (Rags and Tatters) starring Asser Yassin. It's Abdallah's third feature following "Heliopolis" (2009) and "Microphone" (2010), which swept up major festival awards that year including the Tanit d'Or at Tunisia's Carthage Festival and Best Arabic Film at the Cairo International Film Festival.

Abdallah, who tweeted the link to the trailer, also wrote "we decided to release the trailer for Fersh wa Ghatta optimistically for the second revolution. #Microphone was released on January 25, 2011. Memories."

Yassin wrote on Twitter, "the film is almost completely silent, and tells the story of one of the inmates who's released from prison in 2011," referring to the many jails that were illegally, and suspiciously, opened during the chaotic first week of the January 25 uprising. He added that given the difficult circumstances in the country these past two years, making the film was not easy, which is why they founded a new production company, Mashroua, which co-produced this film.

The film also stars Amr Abed, Yara Goubran and Seif Al Aswany, and was written and directed by Ahmed Abdallah. The film was shot by the talented cinematographer Tarek Hefny.
