Artist Samy Maghawry said he was worried about playing the character of the military institution presidential candidate in the show “ Ism Mo'aqat” (Temporary Name), a character many considered to bear a strong resemblance to Ahmed Shafiq, the once presidential candidate.

Maghawry said in an exclusive statement to that he was scared after reading the part. He noted that he expected the character would spark contentious reactions for the resemblance it carried not just for Ahmed Shafiq or Omar Seliman but to all the military institution candidates.

Maghawry added that drama productions that discuss politics are an adventure for both the actor and the director, asserting that the show is presenting all other candidates including Baradei, Hamdeen Sabahi, and the Islamic candidate too.

He also added that the secret behind the show's success is that it's discussing the current political scene and more important the situation during the reign of the Muslim Brotherhood. On the other hand Maghawry stressed that he predicted the military institution will sue him after the show was screened, as the feloul (remnants of the former regime) candidate, the show demonstrates how he uses his connections, thugs and assassins, to control other candidates and push them to withdraw from the elections.

Maghawry pointed that all this year's works are all political in a way or another, which was clear in the role of Shoukry that he played in the show “ Al Araaf” with Adel Imam. He also gave the role of “Atef KhalafAllah” the police officer in the police al adab (morality police), which ends with political events in Egypt as another example of political issues presented in this year's Ramadan dramas.
