Despite his preliminary agreement to make the biopic “American Sniper,” Steven Spielberg announced his withdrawal from the making of the movie that he was supposed to direct and produce through his production company DreamWorks.

According to Variety, it's possible that Spielberg did not finalize the contract in the first place, contrary to what was rumored last May. It was just negotiations between Spielberg and Warner Bros, Variety added. Warner Bros wanted to adapt the best selling book by the American navy officer Chris Kyle. Kyle is considered one of the most important snipers in the history of the American army, killing more than 150 people during the Iraq War. Bradley Cooper has been attached to the project for some time.

The reasons behind Spielberg's fall out from the movie were not disclosed. A number of reports stated that Spielberg is now focusing on his new movie Jurassic Park 4, although Robopocalypse was supposed to be his next film before it got postponed.
