Despite the recently imposed curfew and current circumstances in Egypt, actors and filmmakers were keen to offer their condolences yesterday at the funeral of Lekaa Sweedaan's brother, who was killed by Muslim Brotherhood supporters during their "Day of Rage" march across the 15th of May Bridge last Friday.
Among those who attended the solemn event were Ashraf Abdel Ghafour, Elham Shaheen, Anouchka, Nagwa Fouad, Sameh el Serity, Manal Salama, director Ahmed Shafiq, Mohamed Abo Dawood, Ahmed Eldemerdash, Marwa Abdel Monem, Mohamed Abdelaziz, Father Boutros Daniel, Shiekh Osama el Qaswy, Ahmed Seyam and many more.
The Sweedaan's brother was watching the march on Friday when he was wounded by gunshot fire. He died on impact. Brotherhood supporters marched from Kit Kat into Zamalek, heading towards Ramses Square. The men were armed and shooting at random, and met some opposition from neighborhood residents. Footage of the men firing at random into apartments in the usually tranquil island of Zamalek was link, and was broadcast widely on satellite channels.
