Following the separation of Monica Bellucci and Vincent Cassel, another couple has separated after more than a decade of marriage, Catherine Zeta-Jones and her longtime husband Michael Douglas.
The couple has not been seen together since last April, said People's magazine. While Douglas has been seen chilling on a yacht or playing golf on the island of Sardinia, Catherine has been staying at their house in New York.
Some reports have hinted earlier about the couple's intention to get a separation, especially after Douglas' returned from Cannes, where his movie 'Behind The Candelabra' was selected as part of the official competition, and started living in another house. Neither of the two actors' representatives spoke about the reasons behind their separation but close friends said they hoped it will not be permanent.
The couple got married in 2000; they have two kids from this marriage, Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10. The pair has faced a lot lately: Douglas survived a battle with throat cancer while Catherine admitted herself to a psychiatric facility to treat her bipolar disorder.
