"Amelie" to Make a Comeback on the Broadway Stage

" Amelie", the 2001 French film that still has everyone in a state of dizzying Francophilia is soon to be adapted for a Broadway musical.

Variety reported that Brooklyn-based musician Dan Messe, of the band Hem, revealed over Facebook he had been commissioned to adapt the film for a Broadway production. Playwright Craig Lucas and co-lyricist Nathan Tysen will co-write the musical.

Audrey Tautou starred in the quirky 2001 film about a young Parisian waitress who, fears and neuroses aside, decides that she will make a positive impact in the lives of her neighbors after a cloistered and most unusual upbringing due to an acute heart condition. In the revered French tradition, she finds love in the most unexpected places.
