Morsi Supporters Picket Opening of the Malmö Festival in Sweden

A number of supporter of deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi turned up to demonstrate Monday evening at the headquarters of the Malmö Festival, a cultural event in Southern Sweden. They chanted against General Abdel Fattah el Sisi, military rule and the coup, and additionally against the actors and artists attending the opening event, among them Lebleba, Abir Sabri and Hisham Abdel Hamid.

Despite the demonsrations, the opening ceremony went on as planned, which included a number of musical performances, and a screening of " El Sheta Eli Fat," which is taking part in the official competition. The festival also honored Lebleba, who is also a jury member in this year's festival.

A number of Swedish outlets covered the event, including Sydsvenskan, which published on its front page a picture of Lebleba being trailed by a number of Morsi supporters holding yellow Rabaa placards.
