Cinema Syndicate head Mossad Fouda issued an official statement to the Egyptian minister of foreign affairs, Nabil Fahmy, asking him to take the necessary measures to ensure the safety of the members of the Egyptian delegation in Sweden, participating in the third round of Malmo Arab Film Festival. The delegation has reported “harassment” from the supporters of the unseated president Mohamed Morsi. The syndicate demanded the minister an overhaul of the diplomatic delegations that offends the noble Egyptian revolution and works in the shadows against Egyptians' will.

The Egyptian Cinematic Syndicate has called the members of the delegation to check on their safety. Participants in the festival confirmed their exposure to harassments and violent threats. They also expressed their disappointment from the Egyptian ambassador in Sweden as the best he can do is to send the head of the Egyptian envoy in Sweden.

Some of the Egyptian attendees at the festival decided to get back to Cairo as the conditions became inconvenient for an artistic celebration. Lebleba, the Egytian actress, however decided to stay for one more day as she's part of the festival's jury committee.
