Director khaled Yousef, member of the “committee of fifty,” the committee responsible for the constitution amendment said in an exclusive statement to , that he was never worried about art in Egypt. Yousef explained that he has always believed that art and creativity are part of the Egyptian gene and that he'll resist any trials to destroy this gene. My main concern was for the social and economic rights of the Egyptian people, those rights that the revolution was all about, added Yousef. He also stressed on the inevitable radical change of the working policies as the only way to reach the revolution's goals.

Yousef pointed that in the draft he presented to the committee, he included some points to be added to the freedom of creativity article. The most important of these points are the ones about ensuring the rights of creators, providing a healthy creative environment and accessibility to tools of art and culture in all parts of the country.

Director Khaled Yousef stressed on the need to accept the other. He added that there will be an article in the constitution that prohibits the establishment of political parties on religious basis, but in the same time guarantees must be provided to political free religious preaches and to invite them to practice their religious activities under the umbrella of Al Azhar, Egypt's official religious entity.

Yousef concluded by saying that no reconciliation will be done with those who incited violence, involved in murder and destruction, pointing out that some Islamic movements condemned violence and we cannot accuse them for others guilt.
