The51st New York Film Festival screens Jim Jarmusch's “ Only Lovers Left Alive.” Jarmusch was on this year's list of competitors onCannes' Palme D'or with this piece about a couple of vampire lovers.

Only Lovers Left Alive” starts with the return of Eve to Adam. Centuriesold lovers, they're not interrupted except by Eve's uncontrollablesister, Ave.

Alsoscreened in New York today is Robert Redford's “ All Is Lost.” Acritically acclaimed performance for Redford as he plays the role ofa man sailing on his own in the Indian ocean, who wakes up on acollision with a shipping container.
