Sir Elton John, the openly gay Britishmusician interrupted his concert in Moscow to express his views onthe newly issued anti-gay laws in Russia.
"I am deeply saddened and shockedover the current legislation that is now in place against the[homosexual] community here in Russia," John said. He added thatthis kind of laws is inhumane and isolating and that harmony is whatmakes a happy family and a coherent society.
John ended his speech by dedicating hisconcert to Vladislav Tornovoi, a 23-year-old man who was murdered inRussia for allegedly being gay. Sir John did not criticize Puttin,the president of Russia who signed the law.
