As part of the tenth Dubai International Film Festival, the Egyptian independent film “ Odet El Firan” will be screened today, as it is competing for the MuhrArab award for best feature film.
The film was directed by six youngdirectors: Ahmed Magdy Morsy, Mohamed El Hadidi, Mohamed Zeidan, MaiZayed, Nermin Salem and Hend Bakr, and is set in Alexandria where sixdifferent characters live and try to adapt with their personal fears.
A number of other films will bescreened today as parts of several programs. The World Cinema programwill be screening ' 12 Years a Slave' and the French film 'The Past',while the Arabian Nights program will be screening the Syrian 'Ta'mEl Asal' (The Taste of Honey). For the Muhr AsiaAfrica competition, Mahamat Saleh Haroun's ' Grigris' will be screened, whichpreviously participated in Cannes this year.
