Sean Penn Collects $6 Million in Donations for Haiti

Sean Penn has started a Haitian Relieforganization in 2010. The actor had the third Home gala to help Haitiinside the Montage Hotel, and in a show of support for the helpingorganization, celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, Julia Roberts and Danny Moder and Kevin Bacon attended the gala andthe support auction.

Penn talked about the support he'sgetting from the celebrity community, "This town has been verysupportive of me and, more importantly, what our organization isdoing in Haiti," he told People Magazine.

And they in turn appreciated what hedid with his organization, "I'm impressed with what he's donewith the Haitian relief. He's not afraid to learn and be vulnerable,"said Michael Douglas.

The Gala collected about $6 millionwith performances by Haitian Anaelle Jean-Pierre and the surprise wasthe live performance of U2, their first in 4 years.
