Jennifer Lawrence and Barkhad Abdi Win best Supporting Actors at BAFTAS

Barkhad Abdi won the award for best supporting actor in the BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) ceremony yesterday, for his role in Paul Greengrass's film based on a true story Captain Phillips.

America's sweetheart Jennifer Lawrence won the award for her depiction of an outspoken, erratic wife in American Hustle. Gravity won its fourth award for best cinematography, which went to the “Chivo” Emmanuel Lubezki.

Jennifer Lawrence was nominated for the best actress category in the same event last year for her role in Silver Linings Playbook, but she lost it to Emmanuelle Rivafor her widely acclaimed role in Michael Haneke's Amour.
