The censorship board, headed by Abdel Sattar Fathy, has postponed approving the theatrical release of Mohamed El Sobky's film “ Regatta”, which stars Amr Saad, Rania Youssef, Ilham Shahin, Mahmoud Hemeida and Fathy Abdel Wahab, because of several notes from the board over some phrases said in the film's dialogue.

Abdel Sattar Fathy tol Wael El Obrashy, during a phone call to his talk show, that there are three offensive sentences that will prevent the film from being released, and stated that the producers of the film have promised to delete them, and that otherwise “I won't approve the film's release”.

Fathy added that the scenes included in the film's trailer, which was released on the internet, are not present in the film's final cut that was handed to the censorship board, and that the censorship board has no censorship power over content released on the web.
