The 68th edition of the international Cannes Film Festival, which spanned 12 days, will conclude tonight with the screening of Luc Jacquet's documentary Ice and the Sky.

The screening will be preceded by a ceremony during which the festival's jury heads Joel and Ethan Coen will announce the names of the winners of this year's competition, which included 19 films.

The closing ceremony will also feature an honorary Palme d'Or given to the French New-Wave cinema icon Agnes Varda. Previously, only Woody Allen, in 2002, Clint Eastwood, in 2009 and Bernardo Bertolucci, in 2011 have been granted this supreme distinction by the Board of Directors of the festival.

The 68th Cannes commenced on the 13th of May with the screening of Emmanuelle Bercot's film La Tête Haute.
