Ahmed dies, and Ali recalls the conditions of his family when he was young. Saleh rejects Abu Ayed’s offer to sell his land to the Jews and sees this as a betrayal. Ahmed, Saleh's son, seeks to get his brothers Ali and Hassan to complete their studies so that they do not become just farmers like himself.
Taxes increase on Saleh, and Ayed prevents him from pressing his olives in the press, causing him a loss. Ahmed quarrels with Ayed and decides to collect people's signatures against Ayed’s injustice and submit them to the government, but despair becomes his last ally.
Ahmed quarrels with Abu Ayed (Ayed's dad), and Abu Ayed threatens him. Ahmed turns to his cousins to help him, but they fail him. Then a clash breaks out between the Jews and the locals after they kill three men by mistake.
Saleh takes care of Mustafa, his nephew, and hides him from the eyes of the British and the Jews. Abu Ayed takes part in searching homes with the Jews. Ali travels to study and bids farewell to his family, while Ahmed objects to Abu Azmi’s seizure of the common land.
As Ahmed confronts Abu Azmi's men and quarrels with them, they imprison him and Abu Azmi flogs him. When the British seize the common land, Ahmed fears it will be given to the Jews, so he gathers the people to stop them. He is forced to work outside the town, while Ali succeeds in his studies.
As Ahmed works in construction, he is upset about the discrimination in wages between Jewish and Palestinian workers, as well as the Balfour Declaration. Sheikh Al-Qassam is martyred, while Ahmed joins the resistance and plans with Fawzi to kill British and Jewish soldiers.
Assi meets Ahmed and joins his group, and they succeed in killing some British soldiers. Akram calls for a strike in solidarity with the revolution, and Ahmed issues a ruling to kill any traitor and spy found among them.
Ahmed takes charge of the village, and arbitrates among the people their issues and problems. Mustafa joins Ahmed and the revolutionaries, but Abu Azmi disagrees with Ahmed over leadership and refuses to join him. As a death sentence is issued against Fawzi, Ahmed decides to avenge him.
Ahmed is injured while carrying out an operation against the British, and Dr. Akram rescues him and treats him at his home, while Arif and Akram are martyred.
Ahmed flogs Abu Azmi after causing the death of Arif. Abu Azmi decides to cooperate with the British against Ahmed, and his nephew Muhammad kills him on his wedding day. Years pass and the revolution calms down, while Ahmed marries Fathia and fathers a son named Saleh.
Ahmed's wife, Fathia, objects to his paying his brother Ali's tuition fees. Hassan falls in love with Jamila. Falah tells Sami and Ali that he has gotten married and fathered a child.
Ali obtains a high school diploma and seeks employment in the city, but he is appointed as a teacher in the village. Hassan quarrels with Ahmed because of his relationship with Jamila.
Hassan insists on marrying Jamila, and seeks to do so, but her cousins kill her.
Abu Ayed and the mukhtar object to the way Ali teaches the village children, and Ali resorts to influencing them by seeking the help of the village sheikh. Khadra is forced to marry Jaber, who beats her and kicks her out of the house.
Ahmed attacks Jaber to avenge his sister, so Jaber files a report against him with the police. Masoud asks to marry Latifa, Abu Ayed's daughter, out of greed for her father's money, and the Palestinian revolution erupts again.
Ahmed is enraged upon discovering that Jaber has sold Khadra's weapon. The people are deported from Haifa, and the Jews and British demand that the bodies of their victims be handed over in exchange for a large sum of money, but Abu Ahmed refuses.
The fighting continues between the Palestinian Revolutionary Front and the British and Jews. The Jews destroy Abu Saleh’s village, forcing the latter to take his family and leave. Fathia loses her son, and Abu Mahmoud finds him and raises him.
Abu Mahmoud takes Saleh's son as his own after his son's death. Abu Ayed is upset about the deterioration of his financial condition, and Ahmed is injured in the war.
Everyone looks for Hassan, and Masoud believes that he has been martyred. Umm Salem (Salem's mother) goes crazy after losing her son, while Latifa quarrels with Masoud and he hits her. Masoud works in construction and asks Ali to give lessons to the children.
Hassan is martyred. Ali opens a school in the camp. Ahmed asks Abu Akram to help him find work. Abu Ayed and his daughter are forced to work gathering vegetables.
Latifa gives birth to her first son, and everyone celebrates the Egyptian Revolution of 1952, hoping that the Palestinian lands will be returned to their owners. Ahmed quarrels with a United Nations Fund official and is arrested.
The lawyer Sami tries to reconcile Ahmed and the United Nations delegate, and asks the latter to drop the complaint against Ahmed. Masoud decides to leave to look for work in Kuwait.
Masoud loses his way in the desert, and Saeed dies, while Abu Akram asks Ali to help his granddaughter Salma with her lessons. Fathia is forced to work as a seamstress to help Ahmed with expenses.
Salma falls in love with Ali, who reciprocates her feelings. Ali gets a scholarship to complete his studies in Beirut, and the Tripartite Aggression against Egypt takes place.
Ahmed accuses Rushdi of stealing the shop's money, but Ahmed's son confesses to stealing in order to help Umm Mahmoud and her daughter with the living expenses. Abu Ahmed dies, and Ali obtains a scholarship for a doctorate abroad.
Masoud convinces Ahmed to agree to the marriage of Ali and Salma, but her mother refuses because he is a resident of the refugee camp. Rushdi travels to study in Ramallah, while Salah falls in love with Nadia.
Salah quarrels with Fathia over her work in serving Umm Nadia. Saleh convinces Umm Sobhia to refuse her daughter's marriage to Abu Ayed due to the age difference between them. Abu Adel refuses to let his son remain in the camp with Salah.
Adel quarrels with Salah after discovering his relationship with his sister Nadia. Ahmed lashes out at his son Salah when he learns that he is hanging out with the thief Attia, while Rushdi seeks to show the poor condition of the camp to the world and foreign journalists.
Umm Ahmed proposes to Rushdi to marry his cousin, then Rushdi travels to Saudi Arabia to work there. Ahmed's son refuses for Sobhia to travel to work as a maid in Salma’s house and asks to marry her.
Conditions improve and Masoud moves with his wife to a large house in the city. They leave the camp, and the 1967 war breaks out, while Ahmed refuses to be displaced from the camp again.
Things get worse in the camp, and Umm Salem dies. Rushdi decides to get his father's rifle back, complete what he started with his uncle Ahmed, and join the revolution.
