Hoda tries to figure out how to deal with the prisoner's hunger strike. Umm Tota (Tota's mother) recounts to the prisoners the story of her incarceration and losing her daughter.

Hoda mediates to secure Nagat's release from solitary. Ibrahim and Hoda visit Abdel Fatah to convince him to support Nagat during her incarceration.

Ibrahim's coworkers conspire to get him to cover their classes so that they could give private lessons instead. Ibrahim fails in his efforts to get his poems published in the papers.

As the prison warden accuses Hoda of covering up Nagat's suicide attempt, he throws Nagat in solitary confinement. Hoda starts looking for Tota.

Mostafa loses all his money after he gets robbed. A publisher refuses to make a book of Ibrahim's poems.

When Monjed accuses Ibrahim of using the poetry classes as private lessons, he denies the accusation. Hoda tries to help Nagat out of her bad psychological state.

Mostafa's boss, Haridy, approves the former's engagement to his daughter. As Umm Tota informs Hoda of the location of the treasure she stole, she tells her to take one quarter for herself and give the rest to Tota when she finds her.

Mostafa informs Sou'ad that he has gotten temporarily engaged to Haridy's daughter. When Hoda informs Ibrahim of what Umm Tota told her before her death, he tells her that she has to stay away from the stolen money.

As Mostafa and Hoda find the treasure, Ibrahim asks them to turn the gold to the police, but they refuse. With Mostafa's mother in need of surgery, Mostafa tries to convince Ibrahim to use their share of the gold to cover the expenses.

With Ibrahim refusing to use the stolen gold, he borrows money to cover the expenses of Hoda's mother's surgery. When they are unable to find Tota, Mostafa tries to convince Hoda to keep all the gold.

Ibrahim gets a chance to write and publish novels. Hoda stops speaking to Ibrahim after he impedes her attempt to sell the gold.

Mostafa is unable to convince Ibrahim to accept the ill-begotten money. Hoda covers the expenses of Hassan's treatment. Hoda and Mostafa show their newfound wealth by buying a car.

As Hoda and Mostafa visit Nagat's father Morsy, the police arrest them all after they find drugs in Morsy's house, but Hoda and Mostafa eventually get released. Mostafa ends his engagement and quits his job.

When Ibrahim collects money from the students to buy poetry books for their lessons, the principal accuses him of profiting off his job. Hoda uses the money she got from selling the gold to open a factory. Ibrahim gets transferred to Sohag.

Hoda holds Ibrahim's poverty against him and refuses to go with him to Sohag, leading him to divorce her. Ibrahim refuses the transfer and hires a lawyer to take his case. Hoda quits her job at the prison to have time for the factory.

The students protest and demand that Ibrahim be reinstated. Mohamed nearly drowns, but he is ultimately saved and gets rushed to the hospital.

In order to get close to Hoda, Ehsan covers the expenses for Mohamed's treatment. Ibrahim is forced to take a job at a restaurant. Hoda enlists Ehsan's help to get a loan to expand the factory.

Ibrahim decides to keep custody of Mohamed and leaves Fifi to Hoda. Hoda discovers that Ibrahim is working at a restaurant.

Mostafa uses a trick to seduce Ibtisam and make her fall for him. Ehsan facilitates a 100 thousand pound loan for Hoda and Mostafa. Ibrahim publishes his first novel.

Hoda asks Ehsan to mediate to get Ibrahim reinstated. Ibrahim gets his job back after the order for his transfer gets recinded. Altaf and Hassan kidnap Fifi.

The gang demands 50 thousand pounds as ransom. Hoda decides to pay the ransom without telling the police, but the delivery goes south after the police intervene.

The gang makes another demand but this time they ask for 100 thousand pounds. Ehsan offers to pay the money. The police rescue Fifi and give the money back to Hoda.

Ehsan proposes to Hoda. Ibrahim's book becomes a smash hit. Mostafa issues an order to fire all the ex-convicts that Hoda hired at the factory.

As Mostafa abandons Ibtisam and evades the idea of their marriage, Ibtisam's father dies from the shock after his daughter's reputation got soiled. Ehsan asks Mostafa for Hoda's hand in marriage.

Ibrahim agrees to give cheap private lessons to improve his financial conditions. Ibtisam plots her revenge on Mostafa. Al-Za'frany threatens Hoda to get the money she owes him for the merchandise that he sold her.

Ibrahim prepares to publish his new book, Eve and the Apple. When Hoda asks Ibrahim to take her back, he refuses due to her refusal to give up the ill-begotten fortune. Nagat gets released from prison.

It's revealed that Ehsan is the one who got Al-Za'frany to demand his money from Hoda, all in order to pressure Hoda into marrying Ehsan. Nagat asks Hoda for a job at the factory.

As Hoda tries to pay off the bank loan before the factory gets foreclosed, she discovers that Mostafa has been stealing from her. When she fires him, he tries to burn the factory down, only to get caught in the fire. Mostafa passes away. Hoda returns to Ibrahim, who has made it as a writer.
