Abdel Ghafour starts working for Master Sardina on the recommendation of Sheikh Hanafy Al-Anbary. As he starts to learn the ropes, he buys koshary from Fatma and talks to her about how to make it.

Fatma and Sayed advise Abdel Ghafour to try and sell some scraps on his day off. When Fatma tells Abdel Ghafour that her building has an empty room, Abdel Ghafour gets money from Sardina and rents it.

Abdel Ghafour collects people's discarded scraps and makes a wooden cart to put them on. When one of the sellers fights with him, they both get arrested. Ibrahim Sardina gets Abdel Ghafour released.

Abdel Ghafour starts selling scraps. Morsy proposes to Fatma but she refuses. Abdel Ghafour tells Fatma that he wants to marry her but he needs some time to get enough money.

Abdel Ghafour asks Medany to bring him scraps. Mahfouz asks Morsy to get someone to buy some scraps from Abdel Ghafour to make sure that he is not lifting them from their stocks . Morsy brings the scraps to Ibrahim who confirms that Abdel Ghafour bought them from Medany.

Abdel Ghafour considers opening his own shop to avoid Morsy's harrasment. Mahfouz forces Abdel Ghafour to wash his car in his new clothes. Morsy arranges for Abdel Ghafour to have an accident and he is transferred to the hospital.

Abdel Ghafour gives Fatma and Sayed the key to his room so they could get the money and buy the shop for him. When he is released from the hospital, Abdel Ghafour asks for Ibrahim's permission to open his store.

Abdel Ghafour asks for Fatma's hand in marriage and recruits Sayed to work for him in order to prevent Fatma from returning to work on the koshary stand.

Abdel Ghafour gets Fahim to spread a tale that he found a treasure. As his business grows, Fatma gives birth to a boy that they name Abdel Wahab.

The Masters agree to have Abdel Ghafour win the auction. Salem tries to raise the price but Abdel Ghafour tricks him. Ibrahim learns of what Mahfouz did to Abdel Ghafour and reprimands him. Abdel Ghafour is saddened when Ibrahim dies.

As Abdel Ghafour and Fatma move into a new apartment, Sayed's wife Fathia asks Fatma to have Abdel Ghafour give Sayed a raise. A minister rents an apartment in Abdel Ghafour's building in Zamalek.

When Abdel Wahab's school calls for his guardian to come, Fahim goes with him instead of Abdel Ghafour. As Abdel Ghafour reprimands Abdel Wahab after the principal claims that he is making trouble, Fatma takes Abdel Wahab to a mosque and a Sheikh advises her to let him choose his own path.

Abdel Ghafour asks Fahim to gather information about the jumbo jet. When it's put up for sale, Abdel Ghafour buys it and takes it apart to sell for scraps. Mahfouz asks Abdel Ghafour to partner up with him for an auction.

As Abdel Wahab fails high school for the second time, Khodair passes his exams and starts working for Abdel Ghafour. Abdel Wahab gets drunk but grows repentant after he goes to Al-Sayeda Nafeesah mosque. Mahfouz has a baby with his second wife.

As Abdel Wahab grows out his beard and frequents the mosque, a bearded man criticizes his attire and denounces it. Abdel Wahab gets into the Faculty of Economics and Political Science. Nabil tries to win Saneya over.

Fatma asks Abdel Ghafour to allow their daughters to attend the birthday of Mervat, the minister's daughter. When the girls go despite their father's opposition, Abdel Wahab grows angry. Abdel Ghafour hits Saneya when he sees Nabil driving her to school.

Nazira tells Fatma that Nabil is in love with Saneya. Fatma informs Abdel Ghafour that Nabil wants to wed Saneya. Abdel Ghafour agrees to wed Saneya to Nabil.

Saneya is upset that Abdel Ghafour insists that Nabil gets an apartment for them to reside in after their marriage. Fathia tries to push Abdel Wahab and her daughter Fatma closer.

Nabil's mother and sister visit Fatma and ask to see the apartment. Abdel Ghafour has a disagreement with Nabil and his father about the wedding venue and cost.

Abdel Wahab suggests that they have Saneya's wedding in their apartment. Fatma tells Abdel Ghafour that she wants Abdel Wahab to marry her niece Fatma, but Abdel Wahab refuses and informs his mother of his plans to travel abroad.

Abdel Ghafour is thrilled that Abdel Wahab wants to study abroad. Nabil and Saneya fight after he tells her that she needs to ask her father for money.

When Nabil learns that Bahira has a suitor, he claims that he is only after her father's money. When he tries to talk to Abdel Ghafour about it, Abdel Ghafour claims that no one has asked for Bahira's hand. Mahfouz asks for Bahira's hand for his son Ibrahim.

Bahira and Ibrahim's lavish wedding leaves Nabil and his family furious. When Nabil learns that the newlyweds traveled abroad for their honeymoon, he threatens to divorce Saneya if she doesn't get money from her father. Saneya returns to her father's house.

Nabil divorces Saneya. When the minister tries to talk Abdel Ghafour into giving back the dowry and the wedding jewelry, Abdel Ghafour demands Saneya's alimony. The court rules in Saneya's favor and forces Nabil to pay the alimony.

The minister dies. Abdel Ghafour refuses to lend Ibrahim five million pounds to open a plastic factory. Ibrahim divorces Bahira.

When Khodair asks for Nafisa's hand, Abdel Ghafour vows to help him with the marriage expenses. Abdel Wahab returns to Egypt and falls for Dr. Rosaline.

When Rosaline comes to check up on Fatma, Abdel Wahab talks to her about Islam. Rosaline converts to Islam and changes her name to Amina. Abdel Wahab is transferred to the hospital after the bearded men from the mosque try to kill him.

As Abdel Wahab recovers, Hussein advises him to report the incident to the police. Ibrahim sends flowers for Abdel Wahab and tells Fawzya that he wants Bahira back.

Amina agrees to marry Abdel Wahab and live with him in his father's apartment. Hussein and Nazira admire each other. Fatma advises Abdel Wahab to change the way he is treating Amina.

Amina tells Abdel Ghafour that she wants to visit his factory. Hussein confesses his feelings for Nazira. Fatma is saddened that Abdel Wahab isn't going to have a wedding party.

Fatma resents Amina for having breakfast by herself and leaving Abdel Wahab to go to work. Mahfouz talks to Abdel Ghafour about opening a new factory. Khodair asks Nafisa to talk Bahira into getting back with Ibrahim.

Abdel Wahab and Amina quarrel when she asks him to work with his father. Nazira asks Bahira to think about getting back with Ibrahim.

After Bahira asks to talk to Ibrahim, she agrees to marry him if he complies with her conditions. Nazira refuses to marry Hussein until both of them achieve their dreams. Amina asks to work for Abdel Ghafour but he refuses.

Abdel Wahab learns about Nazira and Hussein's relationship and confronts Nazira. Amina goes to visit her family in the US and returns with a project proposal. When Abdel Ghafour rejects her proposal, she leaves the house and asks for a divorce.

Abdel Wahab and Amina get divorced. Abdel Ghafour talks to Abdel Wahab about his wish that his son would work for him. Abdel Wahab visits his father at work and asks to work for him.

As Abdel Wahab becomes a successful merchant, he proposes to his cousin Fatma. Abdel Wahab starts his own business and starts competing with his father.
