Rohaim runs his father's business as his siblings continue their education. With his brothers now in high positions, Omran asks Rohaim to build a new house for the whole family to reside in.

Rohaim purchases a piece of land for their new family home. Omran informs his children that he wants to give half of his fortune to Rohaim, with the other half getting distributed between the rest of them. Rohaim's siblings agree.

Rohaim meets Hasanat whom he falls for. Rohaim's mother informs her son that there is a guy who wants to marry his sister Nafisa.

Rohaim's brother, Al-Menshawy, refuses to move into the family house due to the harshness of his wife Magda. Magdy asks for Nafisa's hand.

Nafisa is upset when her brothers oppose her marriage to Magdy because of his financial status, but her father interferes and approves the marriage. Hanaa and Wagih are attracted to one another.

Rohaim tells Azazy that he likes Hasanat, but he is concerned about his wife and family's reaction. Enaam is distressed when Rohaim starts being cold with her and she suspects that he is seeing someone else.

Rohaim tells his mother that he wants to marry Hasanat. Both his mother and brother Zain oppose the marriage, and his mother is distressed when she learns Hasanat is a dancer and a wedding singer.

Osman disapproves of Rohaim's plan to marry Hasanat in secret. El-Menshawy tells Zain that Rohaim has the right to take another wife. Nafisa and Magdy get married.

Rohaim's siblings are shocked to learn about Hasanat's job, which is ill-suited for their social status. They decide to intervene.

Faced by his siblings' objection, Rohaim refuses to give up Hasanat. But Yehya and Shahine start to have second thoughts and decide to support Rohaim without telling anyone.

Omran is distressed when he learns about Rohaim's intent to marry Hasanat. When Fatma breaks down after her husband Osman is killed, her brothers support her.

Omran wants Hanaa to marry Wagih, but Rohaim refuses because he doesn't want his son to lead the same life Rohaim himself led. The family is devastated when Omran dies. El-Menshawy opposes Rohaim's marriage to Hasanat so as not to squander the inheritance.

Hasanat runs away after Rohaim's brothers threaten her. When Rohaim finds out, he refuses to give his siblings their rightful inheritance.

Rohaim leaves the family home with his wife and children, as his mother admonishes him for depriving his siblings of their rightful inheritance. Magda tries to incite El-Menshawy against his brother and tells him not to give up on his rights.

The family is divided in the wake of Omran's death. Rohaim's mother decides to leave the family home and return to Upper Egypt. Rohaim stands firm in his decision not to give his siblings anything.

Azazy decides to stay at Omran's grave. Hasanat recounts her suffering to Rohaim. Yehya and Shahine admonish El-Menshawy for threatening Hasanat.

When Yehya introduces his sweetheart Hala to his mother, she tells him to ask his big brother for permission to marry her. As Ramadan starts, Rohaim's mother is thrilled when he comes to the family house as he is accustomed.

When Rohaim refuses to give his siblings their inheritance until Hasanat returns, El-Menshawy tries to look for her. Shahine is injured in the 6th of October War.

Rohaim's mother and Bothaina are devastated when Shahine succumbs to his injuries. Rohaim goes to stay with his mother in the aftermath. Rohaim's mother wants Yehya to marry his late brother's wife. Nafisa has a boy.

Yehya is shocked when his mother asks him to leave Hala and marry Bothaina. But Bothaina refuses to marry Yehya as she continues to be devoted to Shahine.

Rohaim approves Yehya's marriage to Hala. As the years pass, the business grows and Rohaim becomes a millionaire. His eldest son Wagih runs the business, as his youngest Bahgat graduates from the police academy.

Rohaim, now a businessman, owns companies and factories that are run by Wagih. His son Sami falls for his cousin Shimaa. Zain is upset that Rohaim is ignoring his siblings.

Sami is upset that his father didn't invite the family to Bahgat's graduation party. Bahgat introduces his father to his sweetheart Rana. Rohaim is transferred to the hospital after a health scare.

As Rohaim deteriorates, his children keep vigil by his bedside. Rohaim asks Wagih to take care of his siblings. Hasanat tells Rohaim that she never got over him.

Rohaim's mother refuses to move in with him due to his continued insistence to withhold his siblings' inheritance. Fatma refuses to forgive Rohaim,as she blames him for her children travelling abroad to look for work. Sami asks for Shimaa's hand.

Rohaim refuses to allow Sami to marry Shimaa. It's revealed that he had also refused to allow Wagih to marry Hanaa despite their feelings for each other. Though Hanaa married another, Wagih never got over her.

When Wagih learns that Hanaa got divorced, he tries to get close to her. El-Menshawy tells Sami that Rohaim deprived them of their inheritance.

The family supports Hanaa after her divorce. Zain refuses to let Sami marry Shimaa without Rohaim's approval. Sami leaves his father's house and goes to stay in their old family home.

Fatma is upset when she finds out about Hanaa's divorce. Sami refuses to return to his father's house. He believes that since his father withheld his siblings' inheritance then it means that his money is ill-gotten.

Wagih breaks up with his girlfriend after Hanaa's return. Sami is imprisoned for charges relating to national security. His uncle, El-Menshawy, resigns from his job as a judge to take on Sami's as a lawyer.

Bahgat is transferred in the aftermath of Sami's case, just as Alaa leaves Amal over the same case. Hanaa wants to work in Wagih's company.

Sami is proven innocent and gets engaged to Shimaa. Rohaim decides to finally give his siblings their inheritance.

When Wagih dodges his father's attempt to talk about giving his uncles' money back, Rohaim suspects that Wagih opposes his decision. Wagih, who has legal control of the entire fortune, refuses to give the money back.

Bahgat points his gun at his brother when he witnesses a fight between Rohaim and Wagih. Rohaim breaks down when Wagih refuses to abide by his decision.

Omran's grandchildren meet up with El-Menshawy and ask him to sue Wagih to get their inheritance back. When Wagih is killed, various family members are arrested, including his two brothers. It's too much for Rohaim and he dies.
