As Yassine lives in Suez, where he owns a gold shop, his wife Zakia gives birth to a boy amid the family’s joy. Margaret decides to go to Yassine’s house to congratulate him, but neither Zakia nor her mother like her, as she suspects that Yassine is having an affair with this English lady.

Margaret asks Yassine that Ismail leave his school and work. Khalil offers to buy the shop from Yassine, but he refuses. After the school principal expelled Ismail for not paying the fees, his father asks him to work, while Margaret decides to kick Ismail out of her house.

As Margaret refuses to let Ismail work in his father's shop, he decides to work in a fabrics shop with Khawaja Isaac. Ismail moves into his grandmother's house and suffers because of her many demands. Margaret decides to rob Yassine’s shop to make him work in counterfeit money.

Ismail suffers because of his grandmother's frequent visits to the cemetery and her many demands. As Isaac treats Ismail harshly and fires him, he goes to Hussein to help him. Yassine starts making counterfeit money and Margaret tells Ismail about it, asking him to distribute the counterfeit money.

Yassine decides to leave the house and move in with his grandfather, Ismail. He starts working in silver. As Zaghloul asks Ismail to sing at his sister's wedding, Ismail asks for his father’s permission to sing, but he refuses.

As Ismail grieves as his father refuses to let him sing, Zaghloul helps him to learn singing properly. Zubaidah agrees to marrying Yassine on the condition that Ismail approves. Ismail asks his father to agree to his singing in exchange for his approval of the marriage.

Zaghloul's sister's wedding is ruined. Yassine prepares his house for the marriage. Ismail's friends help him to sing at their relatives' events and help him to travel to Cairo. Ismail asks Hussein to convince his father to help him.

Ismail lives with his cousin and her husband in Cairo, and after they learn that he’ll work as a singer, they kick him out, so he goes to a hotel. Ismail starts his career in the arts, and meets the writer Ziada. Ismail’s grandmother tells his father, Yassine, that Ismail stole her money.

Ismail couldn't get in to a Mohammed Abdel Wahab concert. The café owner asks Ismail to sing for the customers with pay, and Ismail agrees. Nadia tells Zaghloul to sing with his persona and not with Abdel Wahab’s. The hotel owner kicks Ismail out for not paying on time.

Ismail decides to travel to Cairo again at the request of Qadri Pasha with Mr. Ali. Ismail sings at the party in Cairo. Ali takes Ismail to Badia Masabni’s casino.

Ali leaves Ismail in the casino to meet his girlfriend, and when Ismail couldn’t pay the bill, Antoine takes him to the police station, but Ali helps him. Ismail starts working in lawyer Ali’s office. Ismail grows fond of singing monologues and decides to sing this kind of songs.

Ali refuses to pay Ismail, as Qadri Pasha is traveling and there are no parties. Hamdi helps Ismail succeed in singing monologues. As Ismail begins singing on the radio without getting paid, he learns that the radio will only bring him fame. Hamdi gets him a gig, singing at a private party.

After the Pasha is impressed by Ismail's singing and gives him a new suit, he finds out there’s a diamond watch in the suit, so he strips Ismail of his clothes after Ismail has given up his old suit. Hamdi brings Ismail a new suit. Antoine asks Ismail to meet Badia Masabni to sing in the casino.

Abo El Seoud writes monologues for Ismail, who proposes to Abo El Seoud the idea of comedic acting, but the latter tells him not to rush. Naguib el-Rihani admires Ismail's monologue singing. Because of his extreme hatred for Ismail, Antoine incites Badia against him and fires him from the casino.

The theater abandons Ismail, who passes the radio tests. Abo El Seoud helps him write monologues to sing on the radio. Ismail rents an apartment and decides to furnish it on installments, but as the radio fails to pay his salary, Ismail decides to return the furniture.

Ali takes Ismail to Beba Ezz Eddine’s casino, where it’s revealed that Antoine is in a relationship with Beba and that he prefers her to Badia. As Beba offers Ismail to work with her, Antoine incites Beba against him, so she refuses to hire Ismail.

As Zaki hires people to harm Ismail, Houria's mother fires him from the casino and threatens him with a weapon, but the people of Alexandria stand by him. As Ismail becomes famous, Abo El Seoud convinces Badia to return Ismail to her company, and she agrees.

Ismail starts working in Badia’s casino, where Antoine stipulates that all the artists who work with Badia kiss her hand, much to Ismail's dislike, who gets fired for refusing to do the same. It’s revealed that Antoine is inciting people against Badia.

Ismail starts working with Fathiya Mahmoud temporarily before traveling to Lebanon, where he finds success there. Hekmat grows fond of Ismail. Zaki offers Ismail to work with him in Syria, where his act is not well-received.

The Syrian public attacks Ismail because of their love for Mohammed Abdel Wahab; upon failing, he returns to Egypt, where he gives Salama the overdue money. He learns that his father got married and that his grandmother died. Ismail proposes to Hekmat.

After Ismail's success in Ras El Bar, Hekmat decides to work with him. As he proposes to her, Yassine objects to his marrying a dancer. Ismail asks Hekmat to quit dancing, but she refuses. Fathiya's revenue decreases after she came to Ras El Bar, and she offers Ismail to work with her.

Ismail goes to Cairo to work with Badia Masabni and Abo El Seoud asks him to stand by her after Antoine abandoned her. Ismail becomes famous as he starts working with Badia, whereupon his condition worsens after Soraya cheats on him and he breaks up with her. Hekmat asks Ismail to marry her.

As a dispute occurs between Badia and Abo El Seoud, she fires him and Ismail from her company. Beba offers Ismail to travel with her to the Levant and he agrees. As Ismail becomes famous in the Levant, Beba becomes piqued by his fame and fires him.

Ismail is offered a big role in a play and he agrees. As Ismail grows fond of Fawzia and decides to ask for her hand from her father, who owns a sweet shop, her father asks him for a large dowry, so Ismail tries to work more to collect it. Ismail and Fawzia eventually get married.

Ismail meets Anwar Wagdi, who offers him a role in the movie ‘My Heart Guides Me’, which becomes a great success. Fawzia gives birth to a boy. Badia sells the casino to Beba as the tax authority confiscated all her money, and decides to return to her country. Ismail shoots to fame as an actor.

Director Fatin Abdel Wahab offers Ismail to star in the movie ‘Miss Hanafi’, which becomes a hit. After the British left Egypt, Ismail sings at the evacuation party. As Ismail surprises Fawzia by buying an apartment in Alexandria overlooking the sea, he seeks to establish his own theatrical company.

As Ismail Yassine's company becomes highly successful, he is offered to star in the movie ‘Ismail Yassine in the Army’. When Ismail Yassine's company suffers losses due to the war, Ismail starts selling his wife's gold to get past his crisis, which he eventually does.

As Ismail is saddened by not making movies, he suggests to Abo El Seoud showing the plays on television, but he refuses. When the revenue of the plays decreases, Abo El Seoud decides to leave the company because of Ismail’s insistence on showing the plays on television.

As the revenue of the plays unexpectedly declines, Ismail is taken to the hospital, and doctors prevent him from working. Ismail’s bank account is seized because of taxes, and Ismail Yassine’s company is dissolved. Ismail’s family moves to Lebanon to live with him, as he starts working there.

The plays get affected by the war in Syria. Ismail grieves the death of Abo El Seoud. As Talaat offers Ismail a play, he agrees, despite not liking it. As Ismail asks Masoud to sing in a cabaret, he collapses due to the deterioration of his art.
