Sayed competes with his cousin Tawfik in business. Faiza gets engaged to Medhat after Sayed rejects her engagement to Kamal. Tawfik seizes all the tenders that Sayed applies to.

Sayed's property is seized after Tawfik seizes all the tenders. Sayed dies of shock, and his entire family moves to their aunt Jamila's. Tawfik refuses to help them, and Medhat decides to leave medical school to help his family while refusing to marry Faiza.

Hamdi leaves medical school and starts a new job, and he and his family move to a small apartment in a poor neighborhood.

Hamdi begins working as a transport driver, and his relationship with the dancer Qamar strengthens. The financial condition of Hamdi and his family starts to improve, so he and his family move to a new apartment. Qasim is involved in an accident and is taken to the hospital.

The conditions of the company where Hamdi works worsen, and he refuses to marry Qamar. Later, Hamdi hits a woman with a car and quickly flees.

The woman whom Hamdi hits dies, so he flees from the police. Hamdi goes to meet Qamar, but he runs into a police patrol on his way back.

Hamdi escapes from the police to an abandoned place in Alexandria. When his family moves to Jamila's house because they are unable to pay the rent, Bahgat begins working in a restaurant.

Hamdi settles with Zaghloul, the chief of the fishermen. Hamdi meets Manar, whom he has seen in a dream, and it becomes clear that Kamel wants to marry her.

Hamdi starts working as a fisherman, while Bahgat and his family move to a room in a poor area. Bahgat falls in love with Soraya, Qasim’s daughter, while Kamel quarrels with Hamdi because of his closeness to Manar.

Faiza begins working as a secretary, and Hamdi gets engaged to Manar. When Kamel steals all of Hamdi’s personal papers and threatens Hamdi with them, he tries to kill him, but Zaghloul stops him.

Bahgat travels to Alexandria and persuades Hamdi to turn himself in to the police. Kamel discovers the truth about Hamdi, so Hamdi turns himself in to the police, serves his sentence, and eventually returns to marry Manar.
