Umm Hayat (Hayat's mother) sets harsh conditions to approve Mansour's marriage to her daughter. On the day of the wedding, Umm Hayat quarrels with the woman who hired the band. But after the fight, she discovers that her daughter's bridal jewelry was stolen, which ruins the wedding.

Umm Hayat is shocked to find Mansour's house unfurnished. When they go out shopping for furniture, Mansour gets fed up with her constant interference in their lives, which eventually leads him to neglect his work. As a result, his manager, Abu Wa'el, deducts from his salary.

After a hard day at work, Mansour returns home tired and goes to sleep to get some rest. However, his neighbors and cars in the street disturb his rest.

Mansour's neighbors, Khairiya and her husband Abu Hany, cause a disturbance as Abu Hany beats Khairiya. Mansour discovers that Hayat lent her jewelry to Khairiya, but Abu Hany seized it. When Abu Hany is hospitalized, Hayat asks Mansour to pay the hospital expenses.

Mansour decides to leave his apartment and move in with his mother-in-law. As he starts to receive potential tenants wishing to rent his apartment, their various requests put him through hell.

Hayat goes into labor and asks Mansour to accompany her as she gives birth. When he leaves work to go with her, Abu Wa'el deducts the day from his salary. Hayat gives birth to her first child.

When Hayat tells Mansour that she wants to get a job, he asks Abu Fahmy to hire her. But Hayat accidentally causes Abu Fahmy to be dismissed from the board of directors after she tells Abu Wa'el about the deal he is working on.

Hayat asks Mansour to hire a maid to help her with the chores. Mansour looks for a maid who suits their needs, but his efforts end in failure.

Mansour decides to build a big house for him, his wife, his son, and his mother-in-law. But after he submits a lot of legal documents to various government agencies, he ends up getting arrested after a fight with the contractor.

Due to his neglect of his work, Mansour is transferred to work in the warehouses, where the workload proves to be too much for him. As his debts mount, he decides to quit his job.

Mansour informs Hayat about his resignation. Now out of job, he is forced to borrow from everyone around him. However, his company's board refuses to accept his resignation and rehires him.

Hayat asks Mansour to buy her a car and teach her to drive. But that doesn't stop her from causing several accidents.

Abu Hany suggests for Mansour to sponsor one of the workers for a sum of money. Mansour gets arrested for being responsible for the worker.
