Najm ad-Din Ayyub hands over the castle to his Minister Behrouz during the birth of his son Saladin. He and his brother, Asad ad-Din Shirkuh, joins Imad al-Din Zengi, who is angry at the Muslim princes for their failure to liberate Jerusalem. Safwt AlMalk Zumurud warns her son Shihab ad-Din of the treachery of his minister.

2nd Episode

As the army beats the Franks, Raymond Count of Tripoli is captured. Shuja-ud-Daula goes out to fight the Franks, and Safwt AlMalk Zumurud incites her son Shihab to disperse his men among the fortresses until she controls the castle.

3rd Episode

Shihab ad-Din kills the minister and seizes his money and soldiers. Imad al-Din Zengi sends to Shihab his demands; to hand over Homs and marry his mother, Safwt AlMalk Zumurud, and she accepts to prevent him from reaching Damascus. Shihab is killed in Damascus, and Najm ad-Din proposes to conquer Baalbek first.

Fulk, King of Jerusalem accepts Damascus' offer of cooperation against Zengi. As Fulk dies and his wife the queen takes over the responsibility of his son Baldwin III, Imad al-Din Zengi deceives Joscelin Count of Edessa, and recovers Edessa from him.

Murad, tries to defend the inheritance of a widow and her daughter. Imad al-Din Zengi besieges Jabar's castle, and threatens his servant Barnaqsh, who kills him and flees to the castle. Nur ad-Din Mahmud Zengi takes the throne over after his father Imad ad-Din.

6th Episode

Nur al-Din marries Ismat ad-Din Khatun, the daughter of Mu'in ad-Din Unur, regent of Damascus. Mu'in ad-Din Unur sends Barnaqsh to Mosul to be punished for killing Imad al-Din Zengi. The French King Louis VII arrives in Antioch with his armies to participate in the second crusade.

7th Episode

Conflicts arise between the Franks regarding the destination of the crusade, and they agree to go to Damascus. As the crusade besieges Damascus, Nur al-Din advances from Aleppo to save it, and the Franks are defeated at the gate of Damascus on the first day. On the second day, Shahanshah, Saladin's brother gets killed.

8th Episode

Mu'in ad-Din Unur decides to agree with the princes of Jerusalem to thwart the crusade in exchange for money. As the camp's location is changed to a place with no water, the Franks are exhausted and the crusade fails. Also, the French Prince Raynald of Châtillon decides to stay in Jerusalem.

The doctor leaves for Nablus after treating Henry, Raynald's friend. As Nur al-Din defeats the Franks in Enip, Raymond, Prince of Antioch, is killed by Asad ad-Din Shirkuh. Mu'in ad-Din dies in Damascus and Mujir ad-Din Abaq takes his place, who decides to ally with the besieged Franks of Ashkelon.

Baldwin III succeeds in seizing Jerusalem's throne without his mother, Queen Melisende. Constance, Countess of Antioch, accepts to get married to Raynald of Châtillon, to make him the prince of Antioch. As Ashkelon falls in the hands of the Franks, Nur al-Din succeeds in entering Damascus with the help of Najm ad-Din Ayyub.

Nur al-Din congratulates Asad ad-Din Shirkuh and Najm ad-Din Ayyub. As Nur al-Din gets to know Saladin, Asad ad-Din battles with his nephew Saladin, to show off his strength. Raynald (Renaud) imprisons the priests of Antioch and tortures Patriarch Emery to hand him their money to invade Cyprus, which belongs to Byzantium.

The Emperor of Byzantium decides to take revenge from Renaud for what he did to his people. Henry meets his friend, the doctor Safi-ad-din, who helps him in gaining knowledge. As Ismat ad-Din Khatun decides to take care of the orphan child Abdullah, Renaud is forced to show repentance to Emperor Emmanuel in order to preserve his throne.

As Saladin manages to protect Ismat ad-Din's convoy from bandits, the child Abdullah finds his mother after they thought that she had died. Renaud is captured by Nur al-Din's soldiers, and Amalric I takes over Jerusalem's throne after Baldwin's death.

14th Episode

As Asad ad-Din escorts his nephew Saladin to Egypt, Shawar writes to Amalric to kick the Levantine army out. The Franks go to Egypt, so Nur al-Din attacks Harem, liberates it, and captures the Frankish leaders. The Franks and the Levantine army agree to leave Egypt, but the Levantine army returns again.

15th Episode

The Levantine soldiers resorts to Alexandria and the Franks besiege them. As Asad ad-Din and the soldiers get out to keep the Franks occupied, Saladin remains in the city. The siege extends and Nur al-Din attacks the Frankish centers in Levant, forcing the Franks to make peace and the two parties leave Egypt.

16th Episode

As Asad ad-Din and Saladin lead the Levantine army to Egypt and enter Cairo, the Caliph Al-Adid welcomes them. The Caliph decides to assign some of the ministry affairs to Asad ad-Din, so Shawar decides to poison him, but his son informs Asad ad-Din.

17th Episode

Asad ad-Din and Saladin decide to kill Shawar, and the plan succeeds with the approval of the Caliph, who makes Asad ad-Din his minister. However, Asad ad-Din dies and the Caliph assigns Saladin instead. Which angers most of the princes of the Levant, so they return to the Levant, and Saladin becomes the Minister of Egypt.

18th Episode

As Saladin begins his work by redressing the grievances of the Caliph’s men, the Franks decide to seek the assistance of Byzantium to occupy Egypt. While Nur al-Din’s aid arrives with Taqi al-Din Umar, Saladin’s nephew, the Franks and Byzantium begin the siege on Damietta.

19th Episode

As the siege of Byzantium and the Franks on Damietta fails, Najm ad-Din arrives in Egypt. Al-Adid realizes that Saladin will remove him from the caliphate so that Egypt and the Levant unite, so he asks him to delay that. As Nur al-Din orders Saladin to expedite the removal of Al-Adid, he assigns his father Najm ad-Din with this task.

20th Episode

Al-Adid gets deposed in the Friday sermon, and dies a few days later. As Nur al-Din becomes the ruler of Egypt and the Levant, conflicts arise between him and Saladin. Amalric decides to pay a ransom to free Raymond, Count of Tripoli, to be the guardian of his son, Baldwin, who was struck by leprosy.

Saladin collapses in grief over the death of his father Najm ad-Din, and Nur al-Din's health deteriorates and he dies in Damascus. A power struggle takes place and Al-Salih Ismail takes over the throne even though he is a child.

King of Jerusalem, Amalric, dies and his son Baldwin IV takes over the throne, despite his young age. Saladin arrives in Damascus and is welcomed by everyone, and moves towards Aleppo, where Saad al-Din decides to seek help from the sheikh of the mountain Rashid to get rid of Saladin.

23rd Episode

The attempt to assassinate Saladin fails, so Saad al-Din decides to ask for the help of the Franks in return for releasing Raynald of Châtillon. As Saladin returns to Aleppo and Mosul and defeats them after the failure of negotiations, the messengers of the caliphate arrive by appointing Saladin as his deputy over the Levant.

24th Episode

As Saladin survives again from an assassination attempt by the sheikh of the mountain, he succeeds in making him focus on fighting the Franks. Saladin marries Ismat ad-Din Khatun, and manages to besiege the King of Jerusalem Baldwin IV in Ashkelon.

Saladin lifts the siege on Ashkelon in an attempt to lure the Franks and their king out, but the Franks deceive him and defeat him in Ramla, and Saladin and those with him miraculously survive. As Al-Saleh Ismail gets rid of Saad Al-Din after his betrayal, the Franks decide to build a fortress for them in Marjaayoun.

Saladin manages to defeat the Franks in Marjaayoun and thwart their plan, and the two sides decide to hold a truce. However, Raynald of Châtillon breaks the truce by moving with an army to occupy Mecca and Medina, but he returns before he can do so.

27th Episode

As Renaud rejects King Baldwin's requests to return the crusade's money, Al-Saleh Ismail dies and his mother Ismat al-Din Khatun collapses. Saladin attacks the Kerak after Renaud's repeated attacks on Muslim convoys. Ismat al-Din Khatun and King Baldwin IV die, leaving his throne to his young son.

28th Episode

Saladin grieves after the death of his wife, Ismat al-Din, and Joscelin's plot to appoint Guy of Lusignan king of Jerusalem succeeds. As Renaud breaks the armistice, Saladin mobilizes the armies and heads to Hattin, and forces the weary Franks to come to him.

The Battle of Hattin takes place, and King Guy, Renaud and several princes are captured. Saladin kills Renaud in retaliation for his crimes. The Franks refuse to hand over Jerusalem and Saladin besieges it. Balian of Ibelin is forced to lead the resistance in Jerusalem against Saladin.

Finale

As a battle ensues between Saladin and the Franks over Jerusalem, the Franks decide to hand over Jerusalem to Saladin in exchange for their safety. Saladin accepts, enters the city humbly, and safely facilitates the way out for the Franks. The crowds go the following Friday to pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
