The events take place in Ezbet Al Munisi, a fictional estate in the Nile Delta, during the period preceding the June 1967 defeat. It illustrates that despite the revolution's abolition of feudalism and the granting of land to peasants, the beneficiaries of the revolution now own an estate of more than one hundred acres, which they manage in the same manner as the feudal lords, and are protected by their brother, who holds a high position.
