When Hanan learns that Nesrine's parents died in a raid, leaving her all on her own, she takes Nesrine in, though her miserly husband Naguib opposes her decision. As Naguib takes Nesrine to work with him in delivering water to farmers, he and Rania mistreat her, but Rabi'e treats her well.

When Wajih feels tired, Nesrine offers her help and looks after him. Zeina notices that Rabi'e has feelings for Nesrine, which makes her jealous as she has hoped to wed Rabi'e. Rania confronts Wajih about his miserliness.

As Wajih leans on Nesrine during his sickness, he continues to mistreat her, though he gets Hanan to buy her new shoes. Due to Wajih's miserliness, Rania leaves the house and goes to Naguib's. As Rabi'e teaches Nesrine how to read and write, he informs Naguib that he is going to marry Nesrine.

Nesrine is crushed when she sees Rabi'e hugging Zeina, but Rabi'e assures her that Zeina is only a friend. Rania remains in Naguib's house. Wajih grows upset when he learns that Nesrine has started to learn how to read and write. Naguib considers making Rabi'e the manager of his lab.

Nesrine grows worried about what Rabi'e's new job as the manager of Naguib's lab will entail, especially after Zeina becomes his secretary. As Zeina tries to convince Rania to marry the younger Wessam, Fady proposes to Rania. As Zeina and Rabi'e get drunk, they end up sleeping together.

Rabi'e informs Wajih that he will wed Nesrine. As Fady gives Rania his address in Beirut so that she could go to him, Wessam warns her against Fady's intentions. Wajih grows upset when he learns that Rania is meeting up with Fady. Zeina learns that she might be pregnant.

As Zeina confirms that she is pregnant, she informs Rabi'e. Naguib asks Rania to hug and kiss him in exchange for a golden necklace as a part of a plan to have Wessam get over Rania, but Rania slaps Naguib and goes back home. Nesrine overhears the whole incident.

With Rabi'e out of the house, Rania tries to slap Nesrine, prompting her to defend herself and beat Rania. Nesrine looks for Rabi'e till she finds him and brings him home. When Youssef arrives to check on Nesrine, Rabi'e warns him against coming again.

Fearing that she will start to show, Zeina questions Rabi'e about the date of their wedding. Zeina informs Rania that she is carrying Rabi'e's child. As the two of them inform Nesrine, she quits her job and returns home late, causing Wajih to call her a whore.

When Wajih beats Nesrine, Hanan defends her. Nesrine informs Hanan about Zeina's pregnancy. As Fady asks his uncle to wed him to Rania, Nesrine tells him of her location, only for him to find her in Wessam's arms. Nesrine avoids Rabi'e.

Nesrine gives Rabi'e the money that he gave her for their marriage. Wajih refuses Rashid's request to wed Fady to Rania. Rashid informs Fady that Rania told him that she will run away to Beirut to marry him. Wajih agrees to ask for Rania's hand for Rabi'e.

Seham discovers that Zeina is pregnant. When Hanan refuses to have Nesrine take Zeina's wedding dress to her house, Wajih beats Hanan, and Nesrine intercedes to defend her. Se'da helps the intoxicated Rabi'e find his way home. Rania tells Fady that she will run away after Rabi'e's wedding.

Nesrine informs Youssef that she will never get married. As Rania steals money from Wajih, she frames Nesrine for the crime, but Wajih discovers that Rania is the thief when she reveals the exact amount that was stolen. Rabi'e and Zeina wed. Rania runs away.

Hanan has a heart attack when she discovers that Rania ran away to wed Fady. Rabi'e confronts Zeina with the plan she and Naguib devised to save the lab from bankruptcy by wedding Rabi'e. As Hanan passes away, Rania and Fady arrive to offer their condolences after 5 months.

As the creditors send men to beat Naguib, they only find Rabi'e and beat him to send a message to Naguib. As Nesrine goes to Naguib's house to check on Rabi'e, Rabi'e goes to Wajih to ask for money to help Naguib.

Wajih learns that Naguib gave up his lab and lands to the creditors. As Nesrine takes charge of managing the farmers, Wajih admires her management of the land. When Naguib rebukes Wajih for refusing to lend him money, Nesrine steps in to defend Wajih. Fady is forced to resign after he robs the company.

Wajih asks Nesrine to move her bed to his room. As Rania borrows money from Samy, Fady asks her to borrow money from Wessam, who informs Rania that they have gone backrupt. Rania gives Fady the necklace that Naguib had given her. On Nesrine's advice, Rabi'e visits Wajih.

As Wajih opens his money chest in front of Nesrine, he asks her to take the chest and donate its contents to an orphanage. Fady asks Rania to go to Samy to secure an invitation to eat with Samy, but she returns to inform Fady that Samy wants to cut off ties with them.

Zeina refuses Wajih's request for her, Rabi'e, and their son to move in with him. As Zeina monitors Rabi'e, she discovers that he is meeting Nesrine. Rania tells Wajih that she and Fady will move in with him, regardless of whether he agrees or not. When Fady tries to come onto Nesrine, she hits him.

Wajih kicks Fady out and threatens to kill him when he refuses to leave. Fady tells Rania that Wajih and Nesrine planned to falsely accuse him of sexual harassment. Fady is annoyed when he learns that Rania is pregnant. Fady tells Wessam that he no longer cares about their friendship.

Nesrine's interference prevents Wajih from killing Fady. Naguib admonishes Zeina for going out shopping with the French officer who works with Rabi'e. Wajih informs Nesrine that she and Rabi'e are the ones who made Shady love him. Wajih ties a belt made of money around Nesrine's waist before he dies.

Everyone is shocked when it's revealed that Wajih donated everything he owns to an orphanage. Nesrine advises Rabi'e to refuse Rania's request to sell the land, but Rania threatens to sue for her share of the inheritance. Fady and Rania think about getting rid of Nesrine.

Zeina, Rabi'e, and their son move into Wajih's house. Rabi'e quarrels with Rania when she makes Mazen, Sanaa, and Nesrine leave their rooms to take residence in the servant's quarters. Nesrine sees Zeina in the arms of the French officers. Youssef asks Rabi'e for Nesrine's hand.

As Rabi'e rejects Youssef's proposal, Nesrine admonishes Youssef for his lack of disregard for her refusal to wed. As Zeina sleeps with the French officer, she asks him to get Rabi'e out of town. Rania warns Zeina to be careful so as not to be caught with the French officer.

Fady learns that he is sterile. When Rania orders Nesrine to leave the house, Nesrine refuses to comply, which prompts Rania, Zeina, and Fady to force her out of the house. As Rabi'e returns to town, he learns that Nesrine has left.

As Rania informs Rabi'e that she kicked Nesrine out, they reach a deal for him to take the house and leave the land to her. As Rabi'e looks for Nesrine, the French officer grows fed up with his neglect of his work. Zeina offers to take Rabi'e's place.

Zeina tells Rabi'e that she had to agree to work with the French officer for money. Fady and Rania go to Beirut after selling the land to Kamel. Rania gives birth to a daughter. As Youssef and Wessam receive mysterious packages, it appears that they are smuggling weapons to the resistance.

Rabi'e learns that Nesrine has emigrated. Rania, Fady, and their daughter arrive at Rabi'e's house after they squander all their money. The lawyer Ramez informs the tribal chief that someone has bought Wajih's land and renamed it. The lawyer asks Youssef to cultivate the land and buy Naguib's house.

When Shady sees Zeina in an intimate embrace with the French officer, he informs Rabi'e, who gathers all her clothes and hides them at Youssef's house. As he gets Rania to withhold clothes from her, Zeina and Rania come to blows. Ramez buys Naguib's lab.

Rania confronts Fady about him pimping her out. Zeina asks the French officer to get her clothes, but Mazen refuses to accept the dress he sends. The French officer pretends to search the house as an excuse to give her the dresses. Rabi'e orders for Zeina to be kept out of the house.

Rabi'e tells Zeina to go to her father's house. Naguib agrees to manage the lab after Ramez buys it. Zeina plants revolutionary leaflets in Rabi'e's house and bag, leading to his arrest.

When Zeina bargains with Rabi'e to secure his freedom in exchange for her return to work with the French officer, he slaps her. Amin and his men free Rabi'e as the French officer prepares to transfer him to Beirut. When a man ends up killed, the tribal chief claims that Rabi'e is the one who was killed.

As Ramez buys the house from Zeina, she moves with her son to another house. Nesrine returns to town, revealing that Ramez is working for her and that everything he bought belongs to her. Rabi'e changes his name to Khalil.

While smuggling weapons, the tribal chief gets shot by the French and tries to tell Nesrine something before his death, but she is unable to discern what he means. Elysar tells Rania that she heard Fady saying that he is not her father.

Rania asks Wessam not to meet Hend. Nesrine brings Sanaa and Mazen back to the house. Amin and Khalil part ways to prevent the French from catching them. Zeina agrees with the French officer to arrest Mazen. Khalil becomes an accountant at Wassef's warehouses.

Nesrine gives the officer gold and threatens him to release Mazen. Hend breaks up with Wessam. Nesrine informs Wessam that she will stand in the way of his marriage to Rania, who does not suit him. When Wassef falls ill, he leaves Khalil in charge.

As Soraya confesses her feelings for Khalil, he refuses to sleep with her. Wessam overhears Rania's agreement to leave him in exchange for a monthly stipend and her house's rent. Rania also agrees to leave Elysar in Nesrine's care. Zeina is annoyed that Nesrine sent the French officer a gift.

Ziad advises Khalil to reject Soraya to stay in Wassef's good graces. Nesrine covers the expenses for Youssef and Jamila's marriage. The French intelligence captures Amin. The French officer continues to evade the matter of his marriage to Zeina. Nesrine hires Wessam at the lab.

Hend agrees to wed Wessam. Nesrine gives Hend the keys to Naguib's house, offering for Hend and Wessam to live there. Wassef asks Khalil to give him a reason to explain his resignation. The resistance breaks Amin out.

As Wessam and Hend get married, Seham, Naguib, and Zeina refuse to attend the wedding. Rania informs Nesrine that Wessam is Elysar's father. When Nesrine confronts Wessam and Hend after she sees Youssef and Jamila smuggling weapons, she learns that they are working for the resistance.

Nesrine tells Rania that her door is open to her in case Fady beats her. Seham decides to move in with Naguib, Hend, and Wessam. Khalil learns that someone from his village is providing aid to the resistance. Zeina asks the French officer to search Nesrine's house daily.

Nesrine tells Rania that she stopped her stipend to get her to come live with Elysar. As Soraya tries to seduce Khalil, it brings memories of his slip with Zeina and causes him to run away. Nesrine sees a picture of Amin with the French officer. Fady lets it known around town that he is sterile.

At Soraya's request, Khalil tenders his resignation, but she soon promises to keep her distance from him. Nesrine asks Hend to tell Wessam about his paternity to Elysar. As Soraya convinces Wassef to go to the hospital, they discover that he is gravely ill.

As Amin tells Youssef to stop sending supplies, Nesrine learns that it's because a colonel will be arriving in town to conduct a search. Nesrine plots with Youssef and Jamila to have the colonel see Zeina with the French officer, which leads to the officer's transfer. Khalil learns about Wassef's death.

As Soraya introduces Wassef's daughter, Sonia, to the employees, she grows annoyed when Sonia sets her eyes on Khalil. Shady leaves the house after Zeina informs him that she will go to France to marry the officer. As everyone looks for Shady, Elysar takes Nesrine to his usual hangouts.

As Soraya grows jealous of Sonia, the latter suspects that either Soraya or Khalil killed Wassef. Wessam advises Zeina against going to France. The new officer searches the houses of Amin's father, Zeina, Nesrine, and the tribal chief. Zeina convinces Shady to go with her to France.

As Na'eim takes a risk by coming to town, Nesrine gives him money to buy supplies for the resistance. Sonia informs Khalil that she will be showing Wassef's tests to a doctor to confirm her suspicion that he was killed. Shady runs away from Zeina and goes back to Nesrine.

When Soraya tells Sonia about her feelings for Khalil, Sonia accuses her of betrayal. When Zeina discovers that the French officer is married with kids, she returns to live in Wessam's house. As Fady informs Elysar that he is not her father, Nesrine is forced to tell her that Wessam is her father.

As Ziad tells Sonia that Khalil has rejected Soraya's advances, Sonia asks Khalil about whether he loves Soraya, but he refuses to answer. The tribal chief tells Fady that he will leave town along with the French.

The chief warns Nesrine about Fady's cooperation with the colonizers. Fady tells the officer about the stranger that he saw in Se'da's restaurant, prompting the man to escape before he could deliver Amin's message to Nesrine. Soraya surprises Sonia and Khalil when she joins them for a meal.

Khalil grows wroth when both Soraya and Sonia claim him as their lover. The chief tells Bassem that Nesrine refuses to wed. Fady tells Zeina that the two of them need each other. As Shady tells Wessam about Fady's presence in Zeina's house, Wessam kicks him out and slaps Zeina.

As Naguib is rushed to the hospital, a quarrel between Zeina and Nesrine causes his health to go downhill. As the lawyer gives Sonia and Soraya the papers for the inheritance, the two disagree on how to split the inheritance. Bassem confesses his feelings for Nesrine.

When Zeina informs Wessam and Seham that Fady wants to marry her, they tell her that he is a spy, which Fady later confirms. As Zeina agrees to the marriage, Shady refuses to live with her. Sonia confesses her feelings for Khalil.

As Sonia brings another employee to manage the business, Khalil quits and asks Wassim to help him return to his town. Sonia asks Khalil to come back, confessing that she was only trying to hold the other guy as leverage against him. Umm Habib (Habib's mother) sets a meeting between Nesrine and Nabil.

As the French start looking for resistance members, Wassim asks Khalil to go to Sidon. Believing that Soraya is hiding Khalil from her, she accuses him of theft and reports him to the police. Nesrine tells Sanaa that she won't be getting married.

When the officer discovers that Khalil's ID is forged, he deduces that he is a member of the resistance and helps him escape. Zeina admonishes Fady for filing a complaint against Wessam. Khalil arrives in Sidon.

Khalil learns that the French caught a member of the resistance, who confessed that the resistance is being aided by the Daughter of the Land. The chief tells Nesrine that the colonel ordered the capture of 30 women, between the age of 26 and 30, to discern the true identity of the Daughter of the Land.

Unable to bear the torture of the resistance member, Nesrine confesses to being the Daughter of the Land, only for the rest of the women to claim the same. Zeina offers her services to the colonel. As a typhoid outbreak occurs, Ibn Al-Sayad tells Khalil that they will steal vaccines for the resistance.

As Elysar falls ill, the officer arrests Wessam and searches Nesrine's house. As he asks Nesrine to help him get the townspeople to love France, she informs him that if France gets invaded, he would hate the invaders. Khalil steals vaccines from the French soldiers.

Based on a description from the soldiers, a painter comes up with a sketch for the person who stole the vaccine. Ibn Al-Sayad helps Khalil when he decides to go back home to see Shady, who has fallen ill. The officer tells Zeina and Fady that Wessam will be released shortly.

After arresting Youssef and Hend, the officer captures the chief, Nesrine, Jamila, and Rania. Ibn Al-Sayad and Khalil arrive in town. When Zeina intercedes to get Wessam released, Nesrine asks him to go so that he could visit the hospitalized Elysar.

Ibn Al-Sayad learns that Se'da is in the hospital. As he returns to find Khalil missing, leaving a bloodstain behind, Ibn Al-Sayad gets arrested by the French. The officer releases the chief, Jamila, Youssef, Hend, Nesrine, and Rania. As Elysar goes back home, Shady gets vaccinated and visits her.

As the officer continues to show the culprit's sketch to the townspeople, no one identifies him, but Nesrine, Rania, and Shady notice the resemblance to Rabi'e. Nesrine and her friends look for the injured man that the officer is looking for.

As Zeina and Fady notice that Nesrine and her friends are gathering edible weeds, they share their suspicions about the upcoming party with the officer. The old woman, who has a house in the forest, lies to Nesrine about the injured man, whom she actually took in and called a doctor for.

Mazen identifies the old woman as Warda. As Nesrine manages to get Warda to trust her and share the injured man's location, she discovers that he has already left for Sidon. Suspecting that the injured man is Rabi'e, Nesrine decides to follow him.

Ibn Al-Sayad is forced to come clean about Khalil and Jamil. When Khalil arrives at Jamil's house, Rashida tells him that the French authorities have arrested him. Nesrine follows Warda's directions to the man who drove Khalil to Sidon.

As Khalil finds Jamil's house ransacked, he goes to Abdu in his boat. Nesrine is unable to find anyone in Jamil's house, but Umm Wadi'e directs her to Rashida, who shares what she knows about the injured Khalil. Fady tells Mazen that he didn't tell the officer anything about Nesrine's departure.

As Abdu and Khalil try to escape the pursuing spies, they decide to go to Tyre, but the treacherous sea causes their boat to overturn. As Abdu is rescued by some men, Khalil is found by a clumsy girl called Na'eima. Nesrine returns and informs her friends that the injured man's name is Khalil.

As Nabil sneaks into town, he sends for the Daughter of the Land to ask for supplies for the resistance. Rania tells Nesrine that she worries for her due to her connection to the resistance. As Na'eima continues to bring Khalil food, her sister Sou'ad disbelieves her story.

When Sou'ad follows Na'eima, she discovers that the latter was telling the truth. She hosts Khalil at their house after he tells her that he is hiding from the French. Nesrine devises a plan to get the supplies to Nabil, who falls for her.

When Khalil expresses his admiration for Sou'ad, she asks him to stay with her. Sou'ad and Mazen question Nesrine about Nabil after they overhear her conversation with Rania. As Nabil returns to town, he tells Nesrine that he came back to check on her.

Khalil shares his story with Sou'ad and tells her his real name. Na'eima hits Sou'ad when she sees her hugging Khalil. As Na'eima reports Khalil to the French, he tries to escape when they arrive to arrest him. Nesrine denies having any feelings for Nabil. Bassem returns to town.

When Seham falls ill, she asks Nesrine to look after Shady and Elysar. Fearing that a revolution is coming, Fady thinks about going to Beirut. Shady promises to marry Elysar. Nesrine continues to aid the resistance. Bassem confesses that he still has feelings for Nesrine.

As Bassem informs Nesrine that he is a member of the resistance, he promises to bring medical supplies for Nabil. Shady confirms what Zeina says that he is only stringing Elysar along, hiding the fact that Zeina threatened to kill herself to get him to say so. But he soon confesses the truth to Nesrine.

As the officer finds the medical supplies in Nesrine's house, she claims that it's for the hospital. Wessam prevents Elysar from leaving the house to meet Shady. Shady starts his new job at the lab. Bassem kisses Nesrine.

Zakia tells Nesrine that Amin will come to meet her. Hend informs Seham and Elysar that Shady has left the house. Zeina informs Seham that she will be marrying Shady off. Bassem continues to try and get close to Nesrine.

The French soldiers capture Amin before he tells Nesrine anything. Shady tells Zeina that he won't comply with her wish to marry him off. Bassem tells Wessam that Elysar's sadness might lead to a breakdown. Nesrine assures Shady that Zeina won't kill herself.

When Shady earns his supervisor's admiration, Nesrine makes him Wessam's assistant, much to Elysar's happiness and Wessam's annoyance. Bassem proposes to Nesrine. Zeina and Fady go to Beirut to celebrate their anniversary.

Wessam continues to treat Shady harshly. Mazen, Sanaa, and Rania advise Nesrine to marry Bassem. Fady informs the officer that a stranger escaped from the soldiers and went to Nesrine. When the stranger gets arrested, Rania claims that he is her fiancé.

When Kumayel gets released, Rania informs Fady that he is her fiancé. Nesrine informs Kumayel that Amin was arrested before he shared a secret with her. Wessam hits Shady when the latter hugs Elysar. When Shady resigns, Nesrine admonishes Wessam for his mistreatment of Shady.

As Nabil and the resistance members break Amin out, he decides to go to Acre. It's revealed that Khalil is working in a coffee shop in Acre, owned by Sabra who wants to marry him. As Nesrine takes Elysar and Shady to Beirut without telling anyone, Wessam, Zeina, Fady, and Hend look for them.

Nabil gets shot but manages to escape to Youssef's house. Bassem is distressed when Nabil reveals that he came to see Nesrine. Youssef and Jamila help Nabil escape. When Khalil gets accused of being a spy, Amin devises a plan to have him beaten, unaware that the person he is planning to beat is Rabi'e.

Nesrine helps Shady to marry Elysar. Just before Amin and his men beat Khalil, Amin recognizes him and halts the assault. As Nesrine returns alone to town, she asks the chief to register Shady and Elysar's marriage.

Zeina breaks down when Nesrine informs her of Shady and Elysar's marriage. As Zeina insists on leaving the house, Wessam, Hend, and Rania rejoice at the news. Kumayel visits Nesrine and Rania, telling them that Nabil went to Acre.

Amin tells Rabi'e's story to Nader and Nabil. As Sanaa hides Rabi'e's photo and asks Nesrine to choose between the photo and Sanaa and Mazen, Nesrine chooses the photo over them. Seham passes away. Nesrine falls down in a deserted place and gets injured.

Sanaa and Mazen leave town. Sabra is annoyed that Khalil is preoccupied with his friends. As the chief and Bassem look for the missing Nesrine, they get arrested. As Abu Mas'oud finds Nesrine, Bassem rushes to her side.

Rabi'e informs Amin and Nabil that General Catroux has announced that Lebanon will soon gain its independence. Bassem takes Nesrine to the hospital. As the townspeople threaten Fady, the officer gives him a weapon. Kumayel informs Amin and Rabi'e that it's too dangerous for them to return now.

As Se'da wrestles the gun away from Fady, she uses it to threaten him and Zeina. Shady and Elysar return to find Nesrine recuperating from foot surgery. Mazen and Sanaa visit Nesrine when they learn of what happened to her. Syria and Lebanon gain their independence.

Sanaa returns Rabi'e's photo to its place. When Kumayel speaks about Rania, Rabi'e suspects that he is talking about his sister. He also suspects that Nabil is speaking about Nesrine, but the news about her being wealthy and aiding the resistance makes him suspect if it's really her.

When Zeina informs the officer that Nesrine is the Daughter of the Land, he informs her that he was ordered not to pursue the revolutionaries and gives her a weapon to protect herself. The officer asks the chief to secure the soldier's safe retreat from the town.

The chief informs the townspeople that the French soldiers are leaving. Nesrine finds herself in a bing when the townspeople wish to burn the house with Zeina and Fady inside, but Nesrine advocates for them to be kicked out of town instead.

When Fady tries to leave Zeina, they end up killing each other in the forest. As Abu Mas'oud finds their bodies, the townspeople head to their house to kick them out. Sabra learns that Khalil has left Acre, even though he has agreed with his friend to leave in a week.

The chief and Bassem inform Nesrine about Zeina and Fady's death. As Kumayel visits Nesrine's house, he seeks Rabi'e's photo and tells Rania that this is his friend, Khalil, but Rania brushes him off. Rabi'e arrives as Nesrine prepares to wed Bassem.

As everyone tries to process Rabi'e's return, Bassem leaves town after leaving a letter for Nesrine to wish her happiness with Rabi'e. Kumayel informs Nesrien that Nabil referred to her as his sweetheart, but she assures Rabi'e that she doesn't love Nabil.
