Al-Walid ibn Yazid gloats over the death of Mu'awiya, his cousin. Caliph Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik decides to put down the Azariqa revolution in Morocco and sends an army there from the Levant. Ibrahim ibn Khatkan al-Mawla tries to harass Gulnar, the daughter of Abu al-Najm.

Ibn Katan, the governor of Andalusia, decides to bring in the Levantine army from Morocco to help him. Ibrahim ibn Khatkan joins the service of Imam Muhammad bin Ali, of whom and of his calling prophecies were raised. Ward, al-Walid's concubine, tries to win his heart.

The followers of Yazid ibn al-Walid manage to seize Damascus and eliminate al-Walid. Imam Ibrahim assigns Ibrahim ibn Khatkan, who became known as Abu Muslim al-Khurasani, to take over the affairs of the da’wah in Khurasan, while the affairs of Andalusia become turbulent again.

The chief preacher of Khurasan Suleiman ibn Kathir is angry at choosing Abu Muslim al-Khurasani as the leader of the da'wah in Khurasan, while the latter calls on his men to do their practices to attract followers. As-Sumayl ibn Hatim chooses Yusuf al-Fihri to rule Andalusia through whom he'll be the actual ruler.

The da'wah prevails at the hands of Abu Muslim in Khurasan. Badr asks Abd al-Rahman ibn Mu'awiya to be his servant. The Qays tribe led by As-Sumayl defeats the Yaman tribe in Saqunda. Nasr ibn Sayyar tries to win over his enemies in Khurasan to stand up to Abu Muslim and his followers, known as 'Al Musawada'.

The Abbasids manage to take over Iraq. Imam Ibrahim is arrested after he put his brother Abu al-Abbas in his place. Abu Salama al-Khallal’s attempt to keep the pledge of allegiance away from him and his family fails. Abu al-Abbas’s uncle defeats the Umayyads in the Battle of the Zab.

Upon recovery, Abd al-Rahman decides to travel with his servant and loyal followers across the desert in order to reach Egypt, but they are captured by some bandits who steal their jewels.

Hulal is absolved of the theft charges. Ibn Jawshan decides to mediate for Abd al-Rahman ibn Mu'awiya in his claim to the rule and his request to marry al-Fihri's daughter.

Abd al-Rahman decides to go out with his followers to fight al-Fihri after he refused to relinquish the rule, whereupon he defeats al-Fihri and establishes the Umayyad state in Andalusia.

Abd al-Rahman arrests Abu Jawshan after he insulted him. When Abd al-Rahman learns that al-Fihri is attempting to march with an army against him, the former's army goes out to face the latter's; meanwhile, Abd al-Rahman refuses to release al-Fihri's children.

The feud escalates between Abd al-Rahman and Badr, whom he dismisses as the commander of the army. When Abd al-Rahman decides to kill his nephew al-Walid, he pleads with him not to.
