Ajaj anxiously awaits his wife Latfia to give birth. He is shocked when she gives birth to a sixth daughter after five daughters. He leaves the house and complains to his friend Abu Rasmi about the situation.
Umm Ajaj blames her son for not accepting what God has given him. Ajaj apologizes to his wife Latfia and welcomes the arrival of his infant daughter and names her Sherihan, but his friend Ibrahim tries to persuade him to marry again to have a boy.
Ibrahim proposes to Ajaj to marry a woman who has previously given birth to male children in order to ensure that she will give birth to male children. He tells his wife Latfia about the matter, which saddens her, but she decides to propose to their neighbor, Hala, for him.
