Dr. Abbas takes Nahid to the hospital after he beats her and she loses her baby. Nagy is haunted by nightmares about the war. As Rasha asks after Nahid, Nagy learns of what happened to her. Mervat comes to Egypt and notices that Nagy is avoiding her.

Nahid insists on divorce despite Sawsan's attempts to change her mind. Nahid asks Khedr to file a Khula (abdicative divorce) case. Abbas divorces Nahid.

Mervat wants to stay in Cairo with Nagy. Nahid insists on going to Baghdad as rumors of a US attack on Iraq spread. Nagy tells Nahid that he married Mervat to get over her, but he still loves her and wants her back.

Nahid travels to Iraq behind her mother's back. When she is unable to find a hotel reservation, she goes to stay with Khaled's mother. Nahid observes the siege that is being imposed on the Iraqi people as Nagy decides to go to Iraq.

Nahid is detained by Iraqi officials after she attacks them in her report. Nagy tries to bribe an official to get her released.

Nahid discovers that her room has been searched. Sherif tries to get close to Rasha. Khedr's brother, Haitham, arrives in Iraq to join the Iraqi soldiers.

Nagy hides in Khaled's house. Sawsan is deported to Cairo. Mohsen promises to forgive Nagy is he turns himself in. When the US launches an attack on Iraq, Nagy and Nahid hurry back to the hotel.

Nagy and Nahid cover the civilian casualties that fall in the bombing. Nahid's mother and Nagy's wife are worried about them. Rasha's brother, Nadim, is assaulted in a demonstration against Israel.

Sherif is assaulted. Rasha tells Sherif about her love experience. Basra falls. Nahid is traumatized by the blood and destruction she witnesses.

Sayed is injured and gets transferred to the hospital. Mohsen and his men flee the hotel, and the Iraqi soldiers sell their weapons to resistance fighters. The US soldiers seize the journalists' cameras.

As the journalists get targeted, Bassem gets paralyzed after being shot in the back. Baghdad falls and Nahid and Nagy report it.

Nahid suspects that betrayal played a part in having Baghdad fall so easily. Kazem is torn between his happiness that the Saddam regime has fallen and his sadness that the country has been invaded. Sherif is detained.

Sherif is tortured in prison. Sawsan informs Galal that she is pregnant. Rasha threatens to expose the invaders. Nahid covers the murder of civilians.

The French government interferes to get Sherif released. The US forces leave the hotel where the journalists are staying, which raises Nagy's suspicion. The hotel is bombed, which leaves Ramadan and Galal dead and Mohamed injured. Nagy and Nahid are detained.

The US forces decide to release Nahid. Nagy is released and confesses his love for Nahid.

As the next wave hits, Nagy looks for Nahid. Sherif wants Rasha to come back with him to Cairo. Nahid refuses to start a relationship with Nagy. Nagy is arrested and tortured.

Nagy is detained in Abu Gharib on charges of collision with the ousted regime. Mouse sells weapons to the Iraqis. Nagy's health deteriorates and he is transferred to the hospital in a critical condition.

Mass graves are found in Baghdad. Mousa is devastated when an explosion occurs in the market. Nahid learns that Nagy is in the hospital. Sherif enlists Isabella's help to help Nagy.

Sherif and his colleagues bear witness to the cold-blooded murder that the US forces are indulging in. Nagy befriends an injured American soldier and exposes the American government's lies. Nagy's nurse relays a message from Nahid that Alaa came to Baghdad to negotiate Nagy's release.

Joe kills himself after a breakdown. Alaa pledges that Nagy won't sue the Americans.

Nagy is released. Alaa decides to replace Nagy and Rasha with new reporters and send the two back to Cairo. Samy looks for Mousa who is devastated by the civilian casualties.

Sherif proposes to Rasha. Nagy visits Grace who promises to expose the government's lies. Nagy tells Nahid about the torture he endured in Abu Gharib.

Delshan asks to marry Anas. Kazem lectures Samy about dignity and patriotism. Nagy proposes to Nahid. Rasha confesses her love for Sherif before he leaves for Cairo.

Mousa apologizes to Kazem. Sawsan decides to return to Baghdad. Nahid confesses that she still loves Nagy.

Sawsan decides to film a documentary about the Egyptian people in Iraq. Isabella wants to publish Nagy's testimony about what happened in Abu Gharib to expose human rights crimes occurring there.

Sherif gets engaged to Rasha. Nagy is haunted by nightmares. Mousa asks Samy to work with him.

Delshan questions the source of Mousa's sudden wealth. Nahid is kidnapped. Sherif prepares to return to Cairo with Rasha. Kazem learns that Mousa is trading weapons.

Nahid's kidnappers threaten to kill her if the Iraqi detainees aren't released. Nagy is informed that Nahid's ransom is two million dollars. Samy finds Abu Saddam's money.

Mousa tries to discern Nahid's location. The ransom gets raised to five million dollars. Nagy tries to negotiate with Nahid's kidnappers as she unsuccessfully tries to escape.

The kidnappers cut off Nahid's fingers and send it to Nagy. Armed men kill Sargon. Nahid is liberated and her kidnappers are killed. Nagy welcomes Nahid back.
