A lawyer and a seamstress meet for the first time to rent an apartment advertised in a newspaper. They are surprised by the building owner’s condition that the tenant must not be single, widowed, or a lawyer. The lawyer is forced to hide his profession and marry the seamstress so that they can rent the apartment, and events escalate.
