The events take place after El Jorbaji El Darani and Mousa set their enemy, Selim Pasha, on fire and flee to Ibrahim Pasha's camp, accompanied by Ahmed Bey, their friend. El Darani decides to turn against his son, Shaalan, and wage war against him.
El Zafaranji's men arrest Fayyad. El Zafaranji decides to take revenge on El Jorbaji El Darani and his two friends, Mousa and Ahmed Bey, and sends his men to their camp to monitor their movements.
El Zafaranji loses his head and orders his men to torture Fayyad and obtain any information from him about his brother, Shaalan. El Jorbaji El Darani falls ill.
Shaalan asks for the British consul's help to confront El Zafaranji and El Ekairi after they have been heavily armed. The consul agrees to Shaalan's request and tells him that he will provide him with weapons and money.
As El Jorbaji El Darani learns of the consul's cunning plan to make all parties fight each other, he tries to warn Shaalan in any way.
Fayyad escapes from the castle of El Zafaranji Agha and goes to the mountains where his older brother, Shaalan, resides. Shaalan asks Fayyad to join him to become one of his soldiers.
The Sultan's men attack the people of the village and look for Fayyad everywhere. Shaalan orders his men to get ready and tells them that the attack on El Zafaranji's castle is imminent.
After a long time apart, Shaalan meets his father El Jorbaji El Darani, who tells him to beware of the treachery of the British consul and his men lest there be a spy among them who conveys his news and his movements to his enemies.
Shaalan meets Azmek, tells him that he will come to visit his sweetheart, Safiya, and thanks him for hiding her in his house and protecting her. Azmek declares his love for Safiya.
Ahmed Bey tells his two friends that the Sultan's men will conscript the country's youths into the army by compulsory decree of the Sultan. Fayyad decides to take revenge on El Zafaranji Agha and devises a plan to kill him.
Azmek tells Safiya that he does not want Shaalan to come to the village so he wouldn't take her away. Safiya confesses to Azmek that she has grown attached to him throughout her stay with him in his house and tells him that she too wishes that Shaalan would not come.
Fayyad incites his brother, Shaalan, against Safiya, telling him that she no longer loves him like she used to and that everything he did for her has gone to waste. Azmek asks Safiya to meet Shaalan and talk to him, but she refuses.
The Sultan’s men charge the Levant and ask the people to hand over their children, both guys and girls, to join the army. El Jorbaji asks his son, Shaalan, to wait and not attack El Zafaranji's castle during the upcoming period.
As El Jorbaji El Darani feels that someone is conveying their secrets to the pasha, he asks Ibrahim Agha to find out who the spy is as soon as possible. Shaalan goes crazy after making sure of Fayyad's advice to him that Safiya's feelings toward him have changed and that she no longer loves him.
People are enraged at Ibrahim Pasha after his continuous attempts to tighten his grip on power and expel the Ottomans from the country amid the Ottoman authority's incitement of people against him, while the intelligentsia take the side of Ibrahim Pasha.
The British consul turns against Shaalan and orders his men to monitor his movements and those of his aides, the mountain men. Ibrahim Pasha confronts the Ottoman authority's attempt to undermine stability and spread chaos among people.
Ibrahim Pasha pardons his assistant, Sharif, and tells him that his main goal is to advance the state and unite the Arab countries. Shaalan asks his men to get ready after he learns that the Ottomans will attack the mountain.
As Ibrahim gathers his men, Sharif and Ahmed, he orders the latter not to engage in politics again and warns him that if he hears otherwise, he will send him to prison.
The British consul asks his men to bring him Fayyad as soon as possible, whereupon he asks Fayyad to betray his brother, Shaalan, and tells him that if he does so, his reward will be great.
Azmek tells Safiya that the Ottoman Sultan's men captured Shaalan Agha and beheaded him in Istanbul. As Safiya collapses after learning the news, Azmek gets angry with her and feels that she still loves him.
Sharif asks Sheikh Mahrous not to cross the line and to speak calmly with the British consul after the latter tried to insult the sheikh. The British consul gets angry with Ibrahim Pasha after learning that he is constantly sending reinforcements to his men to resist the men of the Ottoman Sultan.
Ibrahim Pasha gathers his men and tells them that he received an order from the Pasha to return to Egypt within only two days. Fayyad asks the British consul that he take over the leadership of the mountain men in place of his late brother, Shaalan
Safiya decides to escape from Azmek's house and return to the Levant. The British consul asks Fayyad to gather his men and prepare to attack the village, upon receiving a signal from him.
As El Jorbaji El Darani dies, everyone grieves for him. Ibrahim Pasha asks Sharif to speak to Fawaz to secure the retreat of the army quietly and replace El Darani. After Ibrahim Pasha and the army men leave Damascus, the tyrannical Ottoman sultanic rule returns to reign over Damascus.
