Bayram meets Sayed Darwish in a café, and news of Sayed Darwish reaches Sheikh Salama Hegazi after he becomes famous in Alexandria. Elsewhere, Fathi the journalist attributes some of Bayram’s poems to himself.

Sheikh Salama accepts Darwish’s invitation to go to him and he praises his talent. Bayram opens a grocery store to please his stepfather. Bayram’s poems attacking the state reach Abdoun, the State Security Department official, so he searches for him.

The editor-in-Chief Abdel Qader praises Bayram’s poetry. Shahdi, one of Emad al-Din’s thugs who takes levies from artists by force, appears. An unknown singer, Folla, meets Zakariyya Ahmad, and he praises her talent.

Bashir, Bayram's friend, enlists the help of Bahgat Bey and Abdel Qader to mediate for Bayram to get him releases. Bayram is released after the French embassy intervenes because his family has French origins.

Bayram meets Malak, Bahgat's sister, at a party in his honor after his release. Bayram meets Maria at the café of the Siniora, who looks at him with admiration. Bayram's sister, Labiba, tries to convince him to marry, so she introduces him to her friend Ihsan.

Bahgat kicks Bayram out of his home after his heart was filled with suspicion regarding how Malak looks at him. Jalila and Sayed Darwish begin an illicit relationship, and Bayram rents a house to marry Ihsan.

Bayram closes the shop and decides to devote himself to poetry. Maria hints to Bayram about her feelings for him, unaware of his intentions to marry Ihsan. Bayram yields to Labiba’s pressure and marries Ihsan.

Bahgat's mind is at rest regarding Malak after Bayram gets married. Bayram is surprised that the house seller has defrauded him after the state demanded that he pay prior payments on the house. Maria is surprised that Bayram has gotten married.

Bayram and Darwish travel to Alexandria to Sheikh Salama Hegazi. Muhammad the jeweler tries to get closer to Jalila, Bayram cooperates with Abdel Qader in publishing a new poem attacking the state, and the State Security Department is still monitoring Bayram.

Sayed Darwish is offered a contract to work in a casino and compose for the George Abiad treoupe. Jalila is surprised by Sayed's intention to travel to Cairo, and Bayram's fame increases after the publication of his latest poem.

Jalila's attempts to persuade Sayed not to travel fail. Bayram works with Naqawa selling oils to make a living. Ihsan leaves the house because Bayram refuses to stop writing poetry, and his house is seized due to debts.

Sayed's mother refuses to comply with Jalila's request to help her convince Sayed not to travel. Ihsan gives birth to her baby girl, Aida. Darwish moves to Cairo with his mother.

Sayed Darwish cooperates with Sheikh Salama and George Abiad, and Sheikh Salama calls Sayed Darwish on stage and praises his talent. Abdul Nabi, Sheikh Salama’s only son, seeks the help of Shahdi against Sayed.

Jalila still has great feelings for Sayed Darwish, and her attempt to get closer to Muhammad the jeweler fails because she still loves Sayed. Abdul Nabi still hates Sayed Darwish because of his father’s interest in him.

Darwish receives news of Sheikh Salama's death, and Jalila asks Bayram to travel with her to Cairo in search of Sayed Darwish. Bayram and Labiba are surprised when their stepfather signs all his properties over to them.

Bayram refuses to travel with Jalila in search of Sayed Darwish. Jalila travels to meet Sayed and asks for forgiveness, but he refuses to marry her. Sayed Darwish and George Abiad are surprised by Abdul Nabi’s decision to reopen his father’s theater to act in.

Abdul Nabi fails on the opening day, Bayram refuses to compose for him. The condition of Sharidi, Bayram's stepfather, deteriorates, and Badi' Khayri meets Sayed Darwish and praises his talent.

Sayed Darwish succeeds in composing the plays of George Abiad Theater. Prince Toussoun cooperates with Saad Zaghloul for the independence of Egypt, and Muhammad Abbas still has feelings for Jalila.

Shinde dies at Bayram's house, and Abdul Nabi turns to Aziz Eid, the director, to teach him acting. Naqawa refuses to marry Master Salama because of her love for Bayram.

Bayram cooperates with Master Salama to open a project together. Jalila tries to get closer to Muhammad Abbas after Sayed refused to marry her. Maria decides to marry Jack because she has lost hope of marrying Bayram.

Sayed Darwish's mother tries to persuade him to marry their neighbor in Cairo, Jalila. Bayram is still suffering due to Ihsan's treatment. Bahgat throws a party to welcome his sister Nawal, and Sayed dreams of traveling to Italy to learn music.

The people rise up to establish the Independence Party. Jalila meets Sayed Darwish at Nawal's welcoming party, and those who attempted to establish the party are imprisoned.

Saad Zaghloul's demand for independence is rejected, Sayed Darwish proposes to his neighbor. Saad Zaghloul is exiled to Malta, and the people rise up to demand independence.

Bayram and Ihsan's disagreements increase as he joins the demonstrations. Jalila tries to get closer to Bahgat, and Bayram publishes Al Masala magazine.

An invitation to Maria's wedding surprises Bayram. Sayed Darwish and his mother arrange his marriage, and Fathi convinces Malak to publish a magazine.

Folla marries Ahmad after she took him to her home when he was shot during the demonstrations, and Maria meets Bayram by chance before marriage.

Bayram thinks about moving to Cairo and publishing his magazine there. Ahmad is still fighting to kill British soldiers. Bayram attends Maria’s wedding, and Sayed Darwish marries his neighbor, Jalila.

Bayram moves to Cairo, where the two friends, Bayram and Sayed Darwish, meet again.

Sayed Darwish is surprised by the news of the death of Badi' Khayri's mother. Abdoun warns Bayram about the lines he is crossing with his poems against the Sultan. Shahdi continues to impose levies.

Sales of Bayram magazine sweep the country. Ahmad separates from Folla following pressure from his parents. Bayram is arrested and exiled to Marseille.

Master Salama tries to get closer to Ihsan after Bayram's exile. Afifa, the maid, works in Ihsan's apartment to convey her news to Salama. Ihsan marries Salama, and Bayram returns home in disguise, only to find Ihsan married.

Bayram visits his friend Sayed Darwish secretly. Master Salama dies, while Jalila and Sayed have a son, Hassan. Darwish returns to Alexandria to welcome Saad Zaghloul after he was pardoned, and Abdoun and his companions succeeded in poisoning Sayed Darwish and causing him to die.
