Othman quarrels with Masoud when he sees him with his sister, who refuses to marry him. Tamr Henna gives a speech to the students to denounce the French occupation of Algeria, and calls on everyone to support the Algerian revolution.
Tamr Henna is preparing for her engagement to Shibli. After Masoud is stabbed and taken to the hospital, the police summons Othman for interrogation.
As the investigation continues with Othman regarding the attempt to kill Masoud, the charges become more laid against him due to the presence of his identity card at the scene of the accident.
As Masoud dies from what happened to him, the neighborhood rises up and Masoud's relatives go in front of the house of Othman's family to exact retribution, whereupon the neighborhood's elders try to mend fences between them, but Masoud's mother refuses to be reconciled.
The two sides refuse to either bury the hatchet or take blood money. After Othman is subjected to torture until he admits to the crime, the sultan's deputy says that Othman confessed to committing the crime. Masoud's relatives rain blows on Shibli.
Abu Masoud (Masoud's father) and Abu Othman negotiate the blood money again, but Abu Masoud asks for a large sum of blood money. Tamr Henna is prevented from going to school so that Masoud's family does not harass her.
Abu Othman succeeds in borrowing the blood money from El Pasha, and he will appoint a lawyer to get Othman out of prison. The conciliation session is held in the presence of everyone.
Othman's sisters return to school again after the reconciliation. Othman's father tries to hire a lawyer for Othman and El Pasha helps him with the lawyer's expenses.
Masoud's brother oversteps his limits with Shibli, and his father warns him or else he will have to pay a large sum. Othman's trial begins.
The trial is postponed until next Tuesday, on which the court sentences Othman to death by hanging, much to everyone's shock.
As Mousad is attacked with a knife while in his shop, Shibli is arrested for trying to kill him, and the police try to force Shibli to admit to the crime.
Malik Effendi suggests that Othman wed his daughter, Tamr Henna, to El Pasha, who cannot have children, but Tamr Henna's mother opposes this marriage.
Abu Othman is puzzled by the issue of the marriage of Tamr Henna, who decides to agree in order to save Othman. El Pasha claims that he is not interested in marriage so as not to anger his wives.
The death penalty for Othman is abolished, and he receives a reduced sentence. Opinions differ in the neighborhood about the marriage of Tamr Henna. The wives of El Pasha come to see Tamr Henna.
As El Pasha gets married to Tamr Henna, everyone prepares for the wedding. Shibli's family tries to find a solution to get him out of prison.
Tamr Henna asks El Pasha to take her to Algeria, and she moves to his house after the marriage. El Pasha receives a visit from his parents-in-law.
As El Pasha decides to secure the life of Tamr Henna in case he dies, he decides to sign over the house to her.
As Shibli is released from prison, he returns to his neighborhood, where he's greeted by the residents with a huge celebration, and is shocked to learn that Tamr Henna has got married.
As protests erupt in Algeria due to the detention of Djamila Bouhired, Tamr Henna is preoccupied with what is happening. Shibli disappears in mysterious circumstances.
Shibli wanders aimlessly. Othman gets angry that his family is not asking about him. Tamr Henna's friends try to find out her address.
Othman finds the person who set him up for the murder. It turns out that El Pasha is afraid of having children because of what happened to him with his father in the past. Tamr Henna's friends arrive at the house.
News spread about Shibli's work on a ship bound for Italy. Othman asks that the investigation with him be reopened.
Shibli arrives in Algeria and hides in one of the popular baths from the French. The news of Tamr Henna's pregnancy spread. Shibli decides to join the Algerian Liberation Front.
Tamr Henna's friends spend time with her at her home. Othman's family continues to search for Shibli, who is trying to find his way with the Liberation Front.
El Pasha's three wives are jealous of Tamr Henna after her pregnancy and the celebrations held for her. Shibli makes his way among the members of the Algerian Liberation Front.
Shibli is sad when the Liberation Organization carries out an operation without involving him in it. Othman tries to reach the person who took his identity card after escaping from prison, and learns that El Pasha is the instigator, after which Othman goes to El Pasha.
After the killing of El Pasha, Othman steals the money in his safe. When Othman's father learns of his son's escape from prison, the police interrogate him. Tamr Henna discovers that before his death, El Pasha signed over all his property to her.
Tamr Henna worries that trouble may come about with her co-wives. Shibli takes part in an operation against the French for the first time. Othman and his friend end up in Jerusalem, where they open a shop.
Tamr Henna's co-wives are angry at the way the inheritance is divided, and discover that she has donated the shops to the Algerian Liberation Front. Othman decides to marry a girl he loves.
Tamr Henna decides to finally fulfill her wish to travel to Algeria. Othman sends a messenger to his parents telling them to join him. Shibli and Tamr Henna are reunited in a sacrifice operation against the French army.
