Ahmed and his brother Rushdi meet to divide their father's heritage after his death, and the lawyer reveals the surprise that Ahmed's father sold his factory to Rushdi before his death.
Ahmed's mother rages at Rushdi and demands that he re-divide the factory between him and her son Ahmed, causing a rift between them. Ahmed decides to leave the villa and become independent in his life.
Salim, Ahmed's son, travels to France to obtain a doctorate. Medhat, Rushdi's son, fails in his studies, while his second son, Imad, meets Sanaa, his cousin, and a friendship develops between them.
Salim returns from abroad and takes up his job at the university. He meets Medhat and learns that he is his uncle Rushdi's son. At the same time, Imad and Sanaa’s relationship strengthens and he confesses his love for her.
Medhat's fiancée, Faten, tries to convince him of the necessity of completing his studies so that their marriage can take place. Rushdi rages at Imad because of the latter's desire to marry Sanaa.
Salim rejects his sister's relationship with Imad, and the guard Ali discovers papers proving that Rushdi forged the factory sales contract, so he hands them to Salim.
Salim confronts his uncle Rushdi about his forgery of the factory sales contract and decides to sue him. An unknown person beats Salim, and Medhat files a complaint with the university administration against Salim.
Medhat is referred to the university's disciplinary council after the discovery of his false claim against Salim, and the latter gets closer to Faten after she discovers that Medhat hired the person who tried to kill Salim.
Rushdi tries contact Salim and Ahmed to achieve reconciliation and get them to drop the case against him, but to achieve this, Salim stipulates that his father Ahmed must be given half of Rushdi’s property, and Faten breaks up with Medhat.
Rushdi vows revenge on Salim. Ahmed dies, and Medhat quarrels with Faten for breaking off their engagement.
Salim appoints Sharif to manage his share in the factory. Medhat tries to restore the relationship between himself and Faten to no avail, and Salim announces his marriage to her.
Medhat tries to sow doubt in Salim's heart towards Faten. Sharif asks Rushdi's secretary, Iman, to marry him, and Rushdi seeks to exploit this to his advantage.
Iman tries to convince Sharif to cooperate with Rushdi in his new project, but Ali warns Salim about it. A fire breaks out in the factory, and Salim is accused of leaking the exam to the college students.
Salim suspects that Faten leaked the exam questions and he is fired from the university, but it turns out that Imad stole the questions in retaliation against Salim.
