Ayoub points his pistol at Khatoun. Al-Zibak stabs Fahd, and Ayoub takes his body covered in blood to his father. Abu Fahd vows revenge. Tahseen learns that his sister Nemat stool Abu El-Ezz's money.
When he learns of Khatoun's pregnancy, Abu El-Ezz threatens her. Abu Fahd breaks into the head office, and Abu El-Ezz decides to step down to prevent bloodshed. Tahseen returns Abu El-Ezz's money that his sister Nemat stole and warns their father that Tahseen isn't as innocent as it seems.
Ezz El-Din refuses to divorce Wedad, and she tries to help Farouk rise to leadership. Daniel offers to help Abu Fahd rise to the position of a chief if the latter helps him get rid of Al-Zibak. Zomorod asks Ezz El-Din to take over the leadership to keep the family's name honored.
Farouk clashes with Ezz El-Din. Abu El-Ezz is saddened by Farouk and Ayoub's apparent opposition to him. Khatoun vows revenge on Al-Zibak. Nemat urges Farouk to murder Khatoun. The French forces arrest the youth of the neighborhood.
Ezz El-Din suspects that Abu Fahd has sold them out to the French to facilitate his rise to power. Farouk is imprisoned and tortured. Ayoub marries Abu Fahd's daughter. Samiha takes refuge in Abu El-Ezz's house, but her brother is arrested.
Abu Fahd urges officer Nasri to release Ezz El-Din and Farouk. Farouk asks Daniel to help him rise to power. Ezz El-Din blames his brother for marrying behind their father's back.
Al-Zibak and his men march toward the French camp, but the French set a trap for them as they start to attack them from the top of the mountain. Al-Zibak and Khaled are injured. Daniel is captured. Haroun is recruited as a spy for the French troops.
The French impose an economic blockade on the neighborhood and steal their supplies. The women play a heroic role as they try to smuggle goods from the French. Daniel confesses that Karim was indeed working for the French, and he approached Khatoun to gain access to their secrets.
Tahseen feels guilty for Nader's injury. Daniel confesses to Khatoun that Karim indeed deceived her. Against his men's opinion, Al-Zibak decides to turn himself in to lift the blockade that has been burdening the neighborhood.
Farouk tries to find Al-Zibak to turn him in, while Abu El-Ezz utterly refuses to reveal where he is. In a desperate attempt to save their neighborhood, Al-Zibak and his men wage an attack on the French troops. Nasri seizes the food Khatoun and Khadija brought to the neighborhood.
Immediately after they eat the food Khatoun brought, Nasri and the soldiers pass out and hence facilitate Al-Zibak's entrance to the neighborhood and ease people's misery. Farouk attempts to kill Khatoun, but Ezz El-Din and Zomorod stand in his way.
Nader suspects that Taher has been conveying Al-Zibak's news to Abu Fahd. Khaled rejoices at the news of Khadija's pregnancy. Nemat tries to figure where Khatoun is.
Umm Fahd gets furious when she sees her husband with Samiha at the head office and Abu Fahd divorces her. Abu El-Ezz gets mad at Samiha for frequenting Abu Fahd's place. Al-Zibak releases Daniel. Doria falls ill and Khatoun looks after her.
Nasri storms Abu El-Ezz's house, and Samiha is arrested. It is revealed that Doria has the plague. Abu Fahd is tortured to get him to confess where Al-Zibak is. The French troops eventually learn where Al-Zibak is.
Nemat urges Farouk to reveal to the French Al-Zibak's hideout. The French troops attack the cave on the mountain, but they don't find anyone since all the men flee. Farouk tracks them down to learn where Al-Zibak is.
Samiha is released. Al-Zibak informs Abu El-Ezz that Farouk is a traitor, and that the French troops intend to arrest Khatoun on charges of poisoning the French soldiers. Tahseen vows revenge on Farouk, and Abu El-Ezz hands him over to Al-Zibak.
Abu El-Ezz gets ill and asks to see Khatoun. Abu Fahd sympathizes with Khatoun and her father. It turns out that Samiha is actually Nahed, Karim's wife, and she came to the neighborhood to resume their foul intrigues and deceive everyone.
Farouk breaks down after his father's death. Al-Zibak wages a new fierce attack on the French troops. Doria passes away after she gives birth. Khatoun is arrested.
Al-Zibak breaks down when he learns of Doria's death and Khatoun's arrest. Believing he is the reason why Khatoun was arrested, Khaled threatens Daniel, but he denies the charges and informs them the only way to free Khatoun is to capture the French commander.
The French troops besiege the neighborhood and it is announced that Khatoun is to be executed the following day. Frank is appointed a commander to the Levant region. Al-Zibak ambushes the French troops. Nahed relentlessly tries to prevent Khatoun's execution until she gives birth.
Nahed enacts a plan to save Khatoun and her baby. She proceeds to reveal to Khatoun her true identity and that she is Karim's wife. Khatoun is devastated at the realization that Karim indeed was a traitor.
Zomorod is tortured into confessing where Khatoun is and who brought her to the prison cell. Nemat spreads a rumor that Zomorod is seeing a French soldier. Al-Zibak cannot find where Khatoun is, contrary to Nemat, who finds Khatoun and knows the story of her escape.
A prisoner exchange takes place. Frank tortures Daniel to death and announces that he was a traitor to the French troops. Dalida tries to murder Khatoun, but Nahed stands in her way. Khatoun gives birth to a baby boy.
The midwife takes Khatoun's baby away, and she informs Al-Zibak of what happened to Khatoun. Nemat promises Nahed to give her the baby if the latter pays her well. Tahseen refuses to report where Al-Zibak is. Zomorod tells Nahed that the two babies at Khaled's place are Al-Zibak's children.
The gallows are erected for the hanging of Tahseen, and Nemat vows revenge on Al-Zibak for it. Al-Zibak's daughter passes away.
Ayoub tells Abu Fahd that Zomorod is innocent. Umm Jabri tells Farouk that she stole his father's money. Nemat eventually reveals where Khatoun is.
Abu Fahd learns that it is only Nemat to blame for the mischief that has befallen the neighborhood. Nahed and Dalida escape with the baby. Khatoun is arrested and tortured. Dalida throws the baby in the tombs, but an old man saves him.
Ayoub regrets his disobedience to his father. The French troops locate Al-Zibak and his men and a fierce battle takes place between the two. Al-Zibak asks for Abu Fahd's help to rescue Khatoun. The chief of the neighborhood announces Al-Zibak's death.
It turns out that Al-Zibak faked the news of his death to mislead the French troops, but he enacts a plan to attack them. The gallows are erected for Khatoun.
With the help of the people of the neighborhood, Al-Zibak and his men attack the French soldiers moments before Khatoun's execution. Nemat tries to abort. Abu Fahd announces Ezz El-Din the new chief, and the French troops drop all charges against Khatoun and Al-Zibak.
Nader marries Hamida, and Khatoun marries Al-Zibak, but she still bears the scars of her son's loss. It turns out that Karim wasn't murdered; he returns, finds his son, and the conflict between the French and the people of the neighborhood emerges again.
