Diab chases after Nagia and Aisha after they run away from his home, and Hassan helps them escape before Diab catches them. Diab sets fire to Abdel Alim's shop, thinking that the latter knows Nagia and Aisha's hiding place.
Nagia and Aisha travel to Assiut in an attempt to save the latter after her condition deteriorates. Diab threatens to kill Abdel Alim unless he tells him where his nieces are.
Nagia turns to a church to save Aisha and tells Sister Margaret that Aisha is a Christian to let her stay. Diab discovers that Aisha rented her land to Garta before she escaped.
Therese doubts Aisha's identity. As Nagia returns to Diab's house, she refuses to give him the papers of the land or tell him where Aisha is hiding. In a flashback, Abu El Ela expels Diab and disavows him.
In a flashback, Diab resorts to the gypsies after being expelled by his father. Abu El Ela decides to expel the gypsies from his land, while Diab plants Sobh in Abu Ela's house to convey his news.
In a flashback, Aisha tries to convince Diab to reconcile with his father and return to the family home, and he agrees. Diab attacks Nagia's husband, Muhammad, hitting him in the head and stealing his money.
In a flashback, Diab confesses to Abu El Ela that he stole Muhammad's money and assaulted him. Aisha tells Nagia that Diab committed the crime, and Muhammad comes out of the coma.
In a flashback, Nagia shoots Diab in retaliation, and Hassani treats him. Abu El Ela tells Diab that he refuses to let him come home unless he corrects his path, and a man proposes to Aisha.
Sobh tells Diab of Abu El Ela's desire to marry Aisha off. In a flashback, Sobh recalls how Diab caused the death of her mother Naasa. A masked person attacks Aisha in an attempt to rape her and fails.
Abu El Ela discovers that Ghazi is the one who tried to assault Aisha; Muhammad attacks Ghazi in retaliation. Nagia survives an attempt to poison her. Abu El Ela refuses Askaryia's request to expel Sobh from the house.
Abu El Ela surprises Diab by giving him the windmill to run it. Sobh eavesdrops on Ayyad and Abu El Ela and discovers the latter's desire to sign his land over to Aisha.
Ayyad refuses Diab's money in exchange for handing over the inheritance papers. Abu El Ela discovers Sobh's spying on the family in favor of Diab. As Diab asks Abu El Ela to forgive him, he kills Muhammad to remove him from the way of the inheritance.
Abu El Ela loses his speech after Muhammad's death, while the police investigate to find the killer. Nagia is shocked by her husband's death.
Nagia accuses Diab of killing Muhammad. As Abu El Ela's condition improves, he decides to take Diab out of the will. Tawheeda tries to keep Diab and Sobh apart. Sobh remembers Hassani preventing her from killing Diab and their agreement to take revenge on him.
As Diab announces that he wants to marry Nagia to protect his share of the inheritance, she agrees to marry Diab in order to take revenge on him. Sobh and Tawheeda get angry after they discover Diab's desire to marry.
Abu El Ela's condition deteriorates and he suffers from a serious liver disease. After officiating their marriage, Diab discovers that he, without his knowledge, signed a waiver of his land during his marriage ceremony with Nagia.
Taya refuses Diab's temptations to hand him the inheritance papers. As Diab and Sobh get married, Tawheeda remembers her secret marriage to Diab during the wedding. Abu El Ela dies.
Diab assaults Nagia after she refuses to obey his orders, and attacks Aisha in an attempt to rape her; Nagia saves her and they decide to escape, while events return to the present day.
As Margaret tries to help Aisha adjust to her life in the church, Diab continues to search for her. Nagia sets fire to Diab's room, but the couple survives. Aisha passes the church's tests, and a decision is made to keep her.
Therese tries to find out the secret that Aisha is hiding. Diab decides to sell the mill. Sobh gets angry as her revenge plan gets complicated.
Aisha lets the demonstrators against the British to enter the church after they are injured. Askaryia entrusts Nagia to write the house in Aisha's name after her death.
Nagia turns to Taya to protect her from Diab's threats. Fadda confesses to Sobh that Diab is Naasa's son and that he is her brother. Rizk saves Margaret from drowning.
The people of the village take shelter in the land and house of Abu El Ela during the flood. As Sobh confronts Diab with murdering their mother, he denies it. Nagia reports to the mayor that Diab stole the machinery of her mill.
As the relationship between Rizk and Margaret grows stronger, Rayisah finds out about them. Cromer appoints Saad Zagloul as Minister of Education.
As Rayisah informs the English soldiers about the relationship of Margaret and Rizk, the latter is expelled from the church. As Aisha saves Margaret from committing suicide, Rayisah issues a decision to expel them. Diab succeeds in reaching the church after it's too late.
As Aisha resorts to staying in Wasfi's house with Isis, Diab arrives there and discovers that she has left before his arrival. Carter falls in love with Aisha. Cromer appoints Aisha to work as his translator.
Omar admonishes Aisha for working with Cromer, who is hostile to the Egyptian people. Askaryia tells Sobh the story of her mother's theft of Abu El Ela's gold and Diab's repudiate of her murder.
Protesters besiege Cromer's mansion. Nagia fails to reach Aisha, who assaults Cromer's servant while carrying out Omar's plan by stealing documents from his office. Askaryia confesses to Sobh that Abu El Ela is her real father.
Sobh loses her speech after discovering that Abu El Ela is her father. A decision is issued to dismiss Cromer from his position in Egypt. Askaryia passes away.
Aisha resorts to staying at Umm Abbas' house after leaving Cromer's palace. Diab divorces Nagia. Fadda refuses to tell Sobh where her mother's golden necklace is. Omar asks for Aisha's hand from Nagia.
As Diab kidnaps and rapes Aisha after forcing her to give up her land, he sets Hassani on fire. Sobh dies while defending Diab, while Nagia releases the wolves on him to get him killed.
