Scholars warn Abd al-Malik against demolishing the Kaaba again, and Iblis’ attempt to sow discord in Abd al-Malik’s heart towards his scholars ends in failure. When Iblis prompts Abu Tahir al-Qarmati to build a rival building to the Kaaba and steal the Black Stone, he does.
After Sanbar steals the stone, and it remains away from the Kaaba for twenty years, he is forced to return it. When a salty liquid falls from the sky and the Kaaba is demolished, scholars advise Prince Masoud to rebuild it. Iblis's attempts to steal the stone fail, and the Haram is expanded.
