Salma is a social researcher who goes to meet a prisoner, Salah, to interview him before he gets executed. As Salma learns that her son Ramy has disappeared, it's revealed that Ramy was studying in France.

Salma refuses Samir's request for her to interview AIDS patients. Rabi'e gets in an accident that leaves him with a broken leg. Ramy sends his mother a letter to assure her that he is well.

Nahid and her friend, Faten, move into a new house after Naguib harrases her. Salma eventually agrees to interview AIDS patients. Rabi'e is distressed by his parents' neglect of him and his brother.

Salma is shocked when she finds her son Ramy in an institution for AIDS patients. As she learns that a malignant tumor has left him with temporary memory loss, he tries to regain his memory, telling his mother that he contracted AIDS due to his numerous relationships.

When Aziz gets arrested with a letter that contains harmful information about the country, it's revealed that Abu Shafiq is the one giving him instructions. Salma gets more information about AIDS.

Seeking to prepare for awareness campaigns about AIDS, Salma interviews patients to learn about how they contracted the disease. Nahid starts to implicate Sanaa with her.

Salma hides the news about Ramy's AIDS diagnosis from her nieces, but Kholoud ends up learning about it. As'ad tells Salma that he has AIDS.

Rabi'e befriends Tamer. As Salma refuses to let Rabi'e marry Kholoud, Rabi'e asks his father to find him a job.

Zeinab tells Salma about how she contracted AIDS, sharing the story about her husband Sa'eid's alcoholism and his friends' rape of her as the drunken Sa'eid passed out.

As Sa'eid takes revenge on his friends by pouring boiling oil on them, he gets imprisoned. Salma interviews Arafa to learn his story and how he got AIDS.

It's revealed that Arafa was an addict who thoughtlessly used the same syringe as an AIDS patient. Colonel Essam tries to figure out the identity of the people working with Aziz.

Sorour tells Salma that he was working against the Israeli occupation. Rabi'e suspects that his father is having an affair. Burhan confesses his love for Sanaa. The police learn that Aziz and Abu Shafiq are working against the government.

The police arrest Abu Shafiq. As the Israelis arrest Shafiq, he and his daughters get tortured, and Shafiq ends up contracting AIDS.

Ramy loses his battle against AIDS. Rabi'e is shocked when he learns that his father is married with children.

As Abu Rabi'e (Rabi'e's father) tells his first wife about his other marriage, she decides to separate her properties from his. As'ad's daughter, Mariam, moves into the institution after contracting the disease via an old blood transfusion from her father, who didn't know at the time that he had AIDS.

Nawal tells Salma that her husband gave her and her fetus AIDS after sleeping with another woman. Jawdat rapes Nahid.

The police learn that Abu Shafiq is actually Rashad Al-Ya'couby, a member of an anti-government network that recruited Aziz. Rabi'e gets close to Kholoud. Maya moves into the institution after she contracts AIDS.

Tamer tells Rabi'e about how he was in love with a girl called Nawal, but he discovered that she was deceiving him as she was actually engaged to his best friend. Abu Rabi'e prepares to open a restaurant and appoints his son as the manager.

Awaad refuses to speak to Salma. As Burhan marries Sanaa, it is soon revealed that he deceived her, bringing a fake marriage officiant and witnesses to fake a legal marriage.

Ibtisam tries to improve her relationship with Rabi'e's mother. Samy gets close to Faten and proposes to her. Rabi'e's family goes to ask for Kholoud's hand. It's revealed that Maya was raped by a man who had AIDS.

Kholoud and Rabi'e get engaged. Nahid warns Sanaa about Burhan. It's revealed that Samy is lying to Faten and stringing her along as he promises to marry her.

Tamer beats Abed after the latter betrays him. Sanaa confirms that Burhan is ill-reputed after he asks her to meet up with Abu Diab. Tamer meets Abir and decides to propose to her.

Awaad recounts his story to Salma, starting from how his strict family kicked him out as his father disowned him, to how his numerous sexual relationships left him with AIDS. Salma and Samir get engaged.

Nawal decides to take revenge on Tamer. Nahid tries to warn Faten about Samy. Sanaa decides to leave Burhan as he ruins her life with his drug addiction.

Sanaa gets the shock of her life when she learns that her marriage to Burhan is not legal. As Samy tries to rape Faten, she manages to escape and report him to the police. Nawal kidnaps Tamer.

As Sanaa and her friends decide to take revenge on Burhan and Samy, Burhan kicks them out. As Tamer's friends try to find Tamer, Nawal tortures him.

As Samy tries to convince Faten to drop the charges, she sets up a trap for him and contacts the police. Rabi'e confirms that Nawal is responsible for Tamer's disappearance.

Sanaa reports Burhan to Colonel Essam, sharing the news that he is a drug addict. As Burhan gets arrested, he confesses that his marriage to Sanaa was a hoax.

Unable to continue hurting Tamer, Nawal sets him free, and he forgives her. Abu Rabi'e decides to leave his first wife. Faten decides to go back to her family despite how harsh they are with her.

Maya, Awaad, and Araf decide to take part in the awareness campaign about AIDS, breaking the silence barrier around the disease. Faten goes back to her family, who forgives her. Rabi'e and Kholoud celebrate their engagement.
