When Dalila starts working at Lala Mamia's house, trouble ensues when Mamia asks her to take breakfast to Abdel Meguid, who tries to harass Dalila. When Dalila's mute mother learns about it, she is enraged. Abdel Medguid goes out.

When the colonizers raid the country, they leave countless people injured. Seweilah gets mad when people enter his hospital without his permission. Sabiha goes to the hospital, hoping to meet the new Tunisian doctor, but she's not allowed into the operating room. Dalila and her mother leave Mamia's house.

Dalila faints and has an epileptic seizure. Seweilah meets Miloud, who admires his daughter when he sees her. Lilia catches feelings for Hamda, who teaches her medicine, and Sabiha likes him as well.

The people of the neighborhood believe that Dalila is a holy saint, and Abdel Meguid wants to wed her. Seweilah asks Mahmoud to work with him at the hospital. When Mahmoud sees Dalila during one of her seizures, he tries to heal her.

Dalila tells the girls about Dr. Mahmoud, who gives her medicine so she won't feel dizzy again. Fadila visits Dalila, and she still believes Dalila is a saint and offers her a house of her own. The doctor assures Dalila's family and friends that she has recuperated.

Germany's bitter defeat is joyous news to the Tunisians who celebrate their liberty as they're freed from prison. The doctor wants to return to France for his daughter, but he has no passport. When Fadila tortures Dalila, she and her mother return to Sidy Al-Mahrous's house, much to Mamia's joy.

Bakar wants Dalila to return to Sosa to learn sewing, but Mamia refuses. The doctor gets engaged to Sabiha, who doesn't love him. The doctor visits Dalila and asks if she sees phantoms of people during her seizures.

Dalila accepts to marry Abdel Meguid. Bakar falls ill and the doctor transfers him to the hospital, much to Seweilah's distress. As Bakar recuperates and leaves the hospital, Dalila gets married.

Hamda joins the anti-colonial movement that rejects the condominium between Tunisia and France. Mamia is jealous of Dalila and denies her son any access to money. She asks her son to join Abdel Meguid, Lilia, and Hamda in their fight against the French colonizer.

As Seweilah becomes delirious, his wife wants to take over the hospital. Abdel Meguid starts working in trade with Miqdad. Dalila is pregnant. Meanwhile, Lilia joins the political movement against the French colonizer.

Dalila wishes she's pregnant with a boy, whom she intends to call Mahmoud, after the doctor she still loves. At Abdel Meguid's house, he sees Halouma and catches feelings for her. Fadila accuses Miqdad of robbing her, and the police arrest him. Mahmoud decides to travel to France.

Miqdad and Mahmoud are arrested. Dalila feels dizzy and is taken to the hospital after a quarrel with her husband. On the day of his and Fadila's wedding, Miqdad runs away with Halouma.

Halouma gives birth. Meanwhile, Dalila develops a peculiar ability to predict the future. Mahmoud is released after serving two years in prison. Hamda encourages the people to speak up against the colonizer when Habib Bourguiba is arrested. Hamda is arrested and Lilia tries to get him out.

Dalila learns that Seweilah is her real father; he raped her mother and refused to confess he is the baby's father. A French soldier shoots Lilia in the leg, and Dr. Mahmoud tries to get the bullet out.

Sabiha is jealous of Lilia when she sees Mahmoud with her. Lilia takes shelter in Miqdad's house. Abdel Meguid is martyred in a confrontation with the French troops. Mahmoud is injured in the same battle, and Dalila nurses him back to health. She tells him she loves him, but he is martyred.
