Jihan, Naguib's ex-wife, informs him that their daughter,Anna, has been kidnapped. He decides to travel to Syria immediately to find her, even though he was a political prisoner there and was barred from travelling outside Syria.

Naguib is able to enter Syria but is tracked down by the police. While he is at his family's home and talking to his mother, his sister, Najwa, and her husband, the police arrest him. He leaves his sister the phone number of his friend, Kamal, so she could ask him for his help.

After Naguib's arrest his friends, Kamal and Zuhair, spend a great deal of effort in trying to find out where he was detained.

Naguib is released and his friends, Kamal and Zuhair, take him home. There they find his mother burning his political-related books in her fear that he might get arrested again.

Naguib meets Jihan, to try and learn as much information about Anna as possible that could help him find her. She tells him that Anna used to live alone at a certain place. Najwa refuses to travel with her husband, Tahseen, and wants to stay with her children and mother in Syria.

Naguib reaches the last known address of his missing daughter, Anna, with Zuhair. He keeps looking for any clues to help him find her. Wesal admits to her husband, Kamal, that she is unable to tolerate his father, who has Alzheimer's.

Kamal advises Naguib to find out as much details as possible about his estranged daughter's life to help him narrow down his search for her. Najwa and Zuhair continue helping him with his mission along the way.

Naguib visits the father of one of Anna's friends,Siba, who was also kidnapped at the same time. Together the two parents continue searching for their missing daughters. Later on, when Naguib accesses Anna's personal computer, he is able to contact one of her friends

Nagy, Anna's friend, informs Naguib that they were supposed to travel as volunteers to aid refugees, but his paperwork was not finished so he could not join her. Jihan hangs pictures of Anna around the country. Zuhair and a group of his friends were able to free a group of political prisoners.

Kamal's friend joins in the search for Anna. Zuhair decides to perform an operation for a man at the place of a crime lord in exchange for his help to find Anna. Naguib joins efforts with Nagy to reach the ultimate goal of finding his daughter.

Zuhair is performing an operation for the son of a terrorist group leader. In exchange, he lets him enter their prison camp to take Anna out. Sadly, Zuhair could not find her so instead he asked to take out another girl who was traumatised by terrorrism. Kamal's son spots his father with Shalimar.

Tahseen, Najwa's husband, meets Jihan's husband to sell his house. When Jihan meets Naguib's mother, she could not win her favour. Shalimar learns that an ex-political prisoner has recently brought a girl under a false name to the hospital and thinks that she could be Anna.

Naguib starts reading his daughter's diary. She wrote about her love for Nagy. Wesal, Kamal's wife, invites Naguib and Zuhair for lunch at which they reminisce about the past. Gameela is informed that five female prisoners will be released, so she asks Naguib to go check if Anna is one of them.

Wesal finds out that her cancer has spread. Tahseen sells his house to travel to Germany. Naguib contacts Siba's father to go see the five released girls. One girl says that Anna was taken by a group of people. Fidel tells his mother that his father, Kamal, is involved with a dancer.

Wesal goes back to work, and Tahseen manages to illegally flee the country, leaving his shattered family behind. Dr. Zuhair meets with a follower of the leader of a terrorist group for arms sales.

Zuhair agrees with Abu-Malek about an arms exchange between the police and the leader of their group. Kamal feels guilty about neglecting his wife, Wesal, who is throwing a birthday party for his father. Kamal tells Shalimar about his decision to break up with her.

Abu-Malek informs the terrorist group leader about his meeting with Zuhair. As Kamal desperately searches for Naguib's daughter, the latter finally finds the place where she was last witnessed. When he gets there to search for clues, he is stopped by a footprint which he has spotted on the ground.

Shalimar is feeling depressed over her breakup with Kamal, and does not want to go to work any more. Kamal continues to rebuild his relationship with Wesal and Naguib carries on with reading Anna's diary.

Zuhair meets Abu-Malek about an arms sale negotiation and a reconciliation with the army. When Naguib sits at a cafe near Anna's home, he suddenly sees her walking towards him, telling him how much she had missed him. Naguib takes her to her grandmother, Gamila's home.

Kamal and Zuhair search for Naguib who has been missing for two days. It turns out he was dreaming about his daughter's return just before he woke up at the hospital. Magdy disapproves of Jihan's neglect of her family for the sake of finding Anna with Naguib's family.

Naguib is discharged from the hospital and returns home. Abu-Malek offers to take Gamila to the driver who transported Anna and Siba. He was detained so Gamila bails him out and he tells her that Anna and Siba had died. Gamila withholds this information. Buthayna admits her love for Dr. Zuhair.

Naguib and Jihan went to meet the driver who knew Anna's whereabouts, but according to Gamila's request, he denies knowing where she is. Gamila then tells Zuhair about Anna's death and asks him to share this news with her father. Naguib breaks down at this devastating news.

Abu-Malik tells Doctor Zuhair about their leader's refusal to deliver the weapons. Wesal's illness is getting worse and she is hospitalized surrounded by her loving children. Shalimar leaves her house and moves into a new place in an attempt to forget Kamal.

Someone tells Doctor Zuhair that he is under threat from the terrorist group due the peace treaty. Gamila dreams about Anna and tells Naguib how she senses that she is still alive. Shalimar tries to reach Kamal who is avoiding her.

Abu-Murad tells Naguib that Siba,will be return shortly in an exchange. Siba says that the kidnapper is known as "The General". The terrorist group leader tells Zuhair that he is General Firas who has detained them before in a political prison camp. Farida, Naguib's friend, returns from abroad.

Farida ,who's pregnant, demands an official marriage from Naguib. Kamal's father wanders away from home, so he asks Zuhair to help find him. Farida asks Naguib to visit his mother, Gamila who receives her at home with Najwa. Katherine decides to cut her hair after her mother, Wesal, dies of cancer.

Zuhair and Naguib go to Anna's kidnapper for her release, and he demands a large ransom. Kamal manages to locate his father, and Fidel calls him to tell him that he was taken away to complete his military service duty. Kamal now asks Zuhair to help him find Fidel.

Naguib is trying to come-up with the ransom money. Shalimar helps Kamal to set an appointment to meet with his son, Fidel, on army premises. Gamila, Naguib's mother, asks her husband Magdy, who works in real estate, to help sell her house to use the money to pay Anna's ransom.

Naguib sends The General the first batch of the ransom payment using Kamal and Zuhair's help. Kamal decides to convert his public library into a cafe. The intelligence officer who is still watching Naguib asks him to reveal The General's location, but Naguib withholds in fear for his daughter's safety.

Following the terrorists' numerous chases after Dr. Zuhair, and his many successes at surviving them, they eventually manage to end his life. Kamal is deeply grieving his best friend Zuhair's death. Tahseen decides to return to his family. Naguib finally succeeds in freeing Anna.
