Abdo is fired from his company after he assaults the manager, while his wife, Naima, works as a maid in Sharifa's palace. They have four children, Hassouna, who works in a coffee shop, and Zahra, who works in a workshop. Abdo starts collecting illegal donations for El Effendi.
As Zahra starts living in Sharifa's palace, the latter refuses to let Zahra return to her family. Later on, when Sami, Gawdat's son, proposes to her, she meets him with her brother Hassouna in the coffee shop.
When Sami travels on an errand to Japan, Zahra goes to Gawdat, who tells her that he refuses her marriage to Sami. Meanwhile, El Effendi and Abdo are arrested for fraud.
Abdo and El Effendi escape from prison. Zahra renounces Naima and her brother Hassouna, and she and Gadwat get engaged. When Abdo visits Naima, she screams and he runs away. As Hassouna tries to stab Sharifa to get rid of her, she falls unconscious, and he flees.
Sharifa survives, and Zahra takes over her financial affairs. Zahra and Kamel are attacked in the palace. El Effendi is killed by his gang members, and Magdy accuses Zahra of masterminding the attacks on the palace.
Abdo and Osa seek Khairi's help and steal the safe from the palace. Naima moves from her house. As Abdo and Khairi disappear from sight in his old house, Magdy is accused of the crime. Osa deceives Abdo and Khairi and robs them.
When Zahra tells Sharifa that she visited her brother Nashaat in the psychiatric hospital, and Sharifa falls and is paralyzed, Zahra takes her gold and hides it in her house. Khairi and Abdo find it, Nashaat gets out of the hospital, and Zahra discovers that the gold is gone.
Zahra escapes to Qalyub and works as a newspaper distributor for Saeed. Sharifa dies and leaves a large sum of money for Zahra, who is arrested. When Abdo threatens Osa, she gives him a part of his share. The police are tracking Osa, and Zahra is bailed out and disappears from sight.
Zahra collapses and is admitted to a psychiatric hospital. When Abdo and Osa are arrested, he is sentenced to fifteen years and admits that Magdy is innocent of the palace robbery.
As Zahra’s condition improves, she is discharged from the hospital, receives her inheritance, sells the villa and the estate, and kicks Nashaat out. She returns to the family home and begins providing aid to the people of the neighborhood. Nashaat takes revenge and shoots Zahra, and she dies.
