Hashem lives with his Upper Egyptian mother and is in love with his neighbor, Yosria, who lives with her mother and her sister, who loves Hashem unrequitedly. Mamdouh tricks Yosria into believing that he loves her so that she steals the key to the safe that Hashem is keeping. When he then runs away and marries another woman, becoming a major businessman, Yosria insists on taking revenge.
