Wafiaah lives in Port Said with her son Ali and his wife, and tries to resolve her daughter Mervat’s disputes with her husband, Al Sayyid. Despite the events of her daily life, Wafiaah remains waiting for the return of her husband, who went missing during the war twenty years ago.
