Everyone is gathered for Bakr's farewell as he is going to study abroad for his PhD. Meanwhile, Abu Saad (Saad's father) discovers that his children Saad and Maryam are flunking and has a fight with his wife.

Saad is still failing at his studying while his cousin Khaled and his sister get good grades. Zainab fights with her husband and leaves to stay with her brother Abu Khaled.

Abu Saad's leg breaks and he goes to the hospital for emergency surgery. Subsequently, Hamad argues with Zainab because she neglects her husband and children.

Nasser's mother is fed up with her husband's avarice and complains to her father, who fights with her husband Basheer and insists that she leaves him.

More than one suitor asks for Maryam's hand in marriage, and Abu Saad considers who could be the most suitable.

Abu Muhammad and his wife change their minds about their son marrying Maryam after Abu Saad stalls to tell them his decision, and spread a rumor that he's engaged to someone else, which complicates things between him and Maryam.

Maryam gets temporarily paralyzed because her father insists she marry someone other than Muhammad. Meanwhile, Abu Nasser forces his daughter Hend to marry a rich man twice her age, but the marriage doesn't last.

Zainab holds women's meetings at her house, and asks Saad and Nasser to follow their husbands, which causes a problem between the women and their husbands.

Muhammad aids the police in arresting Abu Obaid while bribing people at customs to release his cargo.

Khalil's over-ambitious nature gets him into many problems, and leads to his assault by some people and his hospitalization.

Bakr and Nasser partner up and open a small shop, which becomes successful. Basheer argues with his son Nasser, believing he is competing against him.

Saad begins working at his father's company, and is in charge of an important bid the company entered. Meanwhile, Khalil meets with Saleh and Mosleh and decides to teach them a lesson for what they did to him.

Zainab suspects her husband has married another woman, and decides to spend all his money so that he'll have nothing to spend on the other woman. However, the money turns out to belong to his clients, not him.

As Saad's grandfather falls ill, the doctors say he must undergo emergency surgery but the grandfather refuses, and convinces Saad to smuggle him out of the hospital.

Saad regrets not being more attentive to his father and asks for his forgiveness, and so does Abu Nasser who regrets his stinginess with his son. Meanwhile, Abu Muhammad agrees to let his daughter marry Bakr, and discovers she takes birth control pills.
