Abu Fahd carries out his threat of killing Mahmoud after learning that El Ghoul has done a smuggling operation behind his back. Wedad is devastated about losing her husband and Shiha the dervish tries to help her cope.
Abu Hussein refuses to help Wedad escape the village and her brother-in-law Hamoud, who wants to marry her, but says he'll help her fend him off.
Hamoud takes advantage of Hussein being hurt after having been shot by the police and sneaks into Wedad's room and attempts to assault her. However, she stops him and kicks him out of her house.
Wedad packs up and leaves for Damascus, staying at Umm Tahseen's house. Shiha looks all over the village for her and confesses his love for Wedad to Neama. Tahseen fights with his sister Sabah's husband.
Fayez goes to his wife Sabah to make up with her but her brother stands up to him. Eventually, Fayez promises him that he won't hurt her again. Meanwhile, Wedad looks for a job.
Abu Hussein is sentenced to 20 years in prison, and Wedad finds a job at Umm Ayman's house.
Sabah tells her mother that Hoda is pregnant with Tahseen's baby, and she becomes furious at him and hits him. Meanwhile, Wedad protects herself from the rape attempts of the man she works for and stabs him.
Wedad's daughter Salam wanders out of the house into the street, a man then finds her and decides to take her in and care for her with his wife.

Qais, Wedad's son, falls ill while the manager of the childcare facility prepares him to leave with Farida, who adopted him.
Wedad's chidren grow up. Abdel Bari tells Riham to be more careful driving the new car he got her. The governess at the orphanage tells Qais to study well to make her proud.
Mays introduces her boyfriend Mazen to her friend Salam, and Mazen begins flirting with Salam, which angers Mays who tells him to stop.
Ziad asks Shiha to move in with him, promising him he won't abandon him again. Meanwhile, Riham hints to Abdel Bari that Ramez wants to propose to her.
As Ramez tells his mother he's in love with Riham and wants to marry her, she refuses because Riham was raised in an orphanage and her parents are unknown.
Riham is angry at Ramez and tells him never to talk to her again after overhearing him telling Nagwa that Riham is like a sister to him, nothing more.
Ziad returns to the village with his uncle Shiha and meets his aunt Neama. Shiha tells Neama that Wedad passed and that he is searching for Ziad's siblings to reunite them.
Ziad tells Shiha he will look all over Syria for his siblings and that he will not rest until he finds them and reunites with them all.
A lawyer, Razan, visits Wedad in prison and tells her she will look for her children and bring them to her. Razan reveals to Wedad she is the daughter of Khalil, the man she killed in self-defense, and that she knows the truth about the event.
Razan asks Tahseen about the whereabouts of Wedad's children, and Tahseen asks for money so she threatens to call the police on him if he doesn't help her.
Fady tries to get closer to Riham and tells her he wants to ask Abdel Bari and Nagwa for her hand in marriage, and she accepts.
Razan finds Ziad and takes him to see his mother in prison. Wedad is overwhelmed with happiness to see her son and holds him tightly in her arms.
Razan takes Ziad to the orphanage to ask the manager if she knows the whereabouts of Riham or Salam, Ziad's sisters, to which she replies that she doesn't know but will help her find them.
Neama learns that Wedad is alive and asks Ziad to take her to see her. Wedad gets out of prison after serving her sentence and begins searching for her children with Razan.
Razan asks for Ziad's help after her mother falls ill, so he takes her mother to the hospital. Meanwhile, Wedad sees Abu Hussein for the first time in years.
Razan hints to Ziad that she has feelings for him and they find the first clue to lead them to Qais's whereabouts to reunite him with Wedad.
Ziad confesses to his mother that he loves Razan and wants to marry her but is concerned about the difference in their education levels. However, his mother reassures him and tells him that Razan feels the same way about him.
Wedad hears Qais speaking on the radio and is sure he is her son when he states his full name. She goes to the station to find him and is reunited with him.
Ziad and Qais agree to search everywhere for their sisters Riham and Salam.
Ziad visits his uncle Abu Hussein, who gives him money and tells him he's like a father to him and should rely on him for help. Meanwhile, Razan becomes certain that Ziad loves her.
Riham learns that Abdel Bari and Nagwa are not her real parents. Riham finds her sister Salam with the help of Dr. Fady.
The whole family is reunited, Ziad and Razan confess their love for each other, Nagwa passes away, and Salam and Riham marry Fady and Ramez, respectively.
