Hajj Madi finds his last refuge in the girl Bahia, after his life with his first wife Umm Hamouda worsened. He secretly marries her and tries to hide the marriage from her and his son, and keeps Bahia’s brother out of his way so that his matter is not exposed in the town. She becomes pregnant, but he refrains from recognizing Bahia’s son, so she resorts to her brother Barakat.
