This picture is a horror film that was directed by Sami Raimi. The screenplay was written by Sam Raimi in a collaborative effort with his brother Ivan Raimi. The film stars Allison Lohman – an actress well known for her performances in “White Oleander”, “Big Fish” and “Matchstick Men” among other titles. Christine Brown (Allison Lohman) is a loan officer at a bank in Los Angeles. In an effort to impress her boss, and thus earn a promotion, she refuses an extension on the mortgage payment of an elderly Gypsie woman called Sylvia Ganush (Lorna River). Christine’s boss praises her after the incident for showing that she can take tough decisions. A little while later, Christine is attacked by Ganush in the parking lot. Following a disturbing fight scene, Ganush removes a button from Christine’s coat and places a curse on it. Christine soon learns that Ganush has unleashed a powerful demon called Lamia against Christine. After tormenting her for three days, Lamia intends to drag Christine down to Hell. Thus Christine finds herself in a race against time to rid herself of Ganush’s curse.
