Emma Alpert | This biopic tells the story of Steve Prefontaine, an Olympic runner whose life was tragically cut short. Growing up, Prefontaine was too small to play most sports, but he became a successful long-distance runner. As a student at the University of Oregon, “Pre” won three consecutive national cross-country championships and four consecutive 5,000 meter races breaking numerous U.S. records. He later traveled to Munich to represent the U.S. at the 1972 Olympics, where he witnessed the terrorist attacks that nearly canceled the games.
